This is the version 2 kit - so with the bridge that works with Android but not Apple Homestart. However no difference in actual thermostat between v2 and v3.

It says available in a few stores but I phoned up customer services and they delivered it free to home.

Great bit of kit and geofencing works well and expandable to multiroom with individuals smart radiator thermostats.

I have no diy skills but managed to easily install (but only replacing a battery operated thermostat). Online installation instructions were excellent.

If you mention it you get the £10 black Friday gift card too. So possibly £75!! [Thanks to ardandy]

Can I tell Alexa that no one is EVER allowed to turn our thermostat up as high as 23?
Can I make 19° the max

Good discount, but do check out the "rental" deal directly from Tado for the starter kit.

It only works out to £47.88 for the first year, and £71.88 the second year. So even less than buying the v3 outright.

The best thing is that if Tado comes out with a v4 that is much better within the next 12 months, you can then end your rental after the first year and get the v4, so you're not stuck with old models.

It has the same functionality as the v3. Only difference is the bridge as I understand it.

It does work with apple - no problems i.e. the model being sold.

Just the apple Homekit integration needs the later model bridge.

You probably could if you tried hard enough and liked living alone! I am no heat freak and 23 degrees is definitely alien territory for me, but the prospects of a night in front of the TV when it is -5 outside and the heating can only crawl to 19 degrees is missing oout on some appeal! ;-)

Is this any good compared to other smart thermostats?

I use this technology ... A sweater, or a jumper or a pullover depending on where you are from, is a knitted garment that covers the upper body and arms.

I personally think its great and arguably one of the best - has actually more functionality than some of the others due to its geofencing ability and I prefer its minimalist style...

Yep I bought one earlier this year. Install is a easy just follow the instructions online once you've selected your existing thermostat and boiler and it takes you through step by step.
Customer service is also excellent if you need to contact them either via email or phone.

No the service has gone downhill massively because of their success, but I vouch for the product - my v1 was set up in 2013 and I didn't touch it until now to install the v3 with extension kit, which took all of 20 minutes and a phonecall to set it up on my account without having asked them for instructions!

Yep pretty awesome. Main difference i think was geo fencing, and their support installing etc. For example i got an email saying i had 3 weeks remaining to change the batteries in the thermostat which is neat

Just extended my zones, excellent kit!

Just ordered. If you meantion the black Friday offer you'll get a £10 gift voucher too! Making it £75!!!!!!

Might be worth amending the title?

That's nuts right? £100 extra for the v3... so essentially £100 more just for Apple Homkit compatibility.

Anyway, how do you check which store has stock? Anyone know?

Might've been asked several times already but are these compatible with Alexa?

Mine works with google home so probably but couldn't day for certain...

Thanks @Monkeycymru

I couldn't find any v2 starter kits anywhere else for anywhere near this price! I mean lowest being like £150!!! and that's only at a couple of retailers.

Do you know if these have been discontinued now? I need like 4-5 TRVs and the extender etc. so getting this kit at £80 would've gone a nice ways to keeping things fairly in budget.

My guess is they probably have hence the silly price, although I'm no expert. I still think no harm giving Maplin a ring just in case. I got mine for £99 which I was extremely happy with. Do love the system - it works well for me...

Thanks, I did just call them and lady said it's discontinued. They don't have any in stock (at least not in her system) but said on the off chance there might be one or two at a store somewhere... but again, she couldn't check it to confirm. But definitely won't be online again.

Well done for grabbing at these low prices. I might go down the rental route for the kit and then just buy a few TRVs outright.
