Deal of the day on Amazon today. I know a few members have been waiting for a deal on tado devices. The 3 pack (add-on) of smart radiator thermostats are also reduced.
The wireless thermostat starter kit is reduced too, but it’s still cheaper from the BT store. Also consider the Costco deal (membership required) which bundles 4x smart radiator thermostats for a whole home solution.

Black Friday is once a year and that deal has come and gone - it’s time to move on! Unlikely to see it go to that price again until Black Friday this year, and that’s a whole 10 months away, so this is still the best deal around for those who aren’t so patient
You better wait until the next Black Friday then...
Membership required at Costco. It might not likely be ever at that price considering inflation, so I am not sure why go back to last year's price?

Yes, I was able to easily switch out a wired dumb thermostat for the Tado one for control of the radiator heating and leave the hot water to the existing controller. If you have a dual channel controller, you have to set the heating channel to permanently on. Don't forget to turn the power off to the controller / boiler before starting work.
I bought the Costco deal and it is proving a nightmare to get the Wireless Receiver to control my hot water. The wired thermostats work fine in conjunction with the radiator thermostats, but I have no hot water! I might just leave my hot water 'dumb' as tado support aren't getting anywhere quickly...
I did have a couple of rather painful wiring days to get all mine working. I was replacing a 30+ year old boiler, controller and the wiring to go with it. Fortunately mine is a fairly standard 'Y-Plan' system so wasn't TOO complicated. For my hot water its literally just a call for it or not, I can't control temperature or anything like that, I can only set a schedule from the app. It's a bit more convenient and flexible than a dumb controller but it was central heating control was the real game-changer for me.
My hot water tank has a temperature setting on it (physically part of it), and also an electrical override (so electricity is used instead of gas to heat the water). So I think the controller used to do the same job (call or not) and the tank controlled the temperature of the water. Both seem to have been knocked out as a result of me swapping the Danfoss controller on it with the tado Wireless Receiver. Really not happy.
