These are great!
I've been wanting to kit the rest of the house out with these since buying one for the living room, at £42.50 each I've finally cracked and bought them.

Hot!
Anyone figured out how you can attach one of these to a towel radiator??

Use the Tado online chat help as they were quick to respond when I used it yesterday. There is the following question about using them in bathrooms: support.tado.com/hc/…om-

Your towel radiator could be located someone else. Maybe it will need a horizontal TRV? I don't know what your towel radiator design is!

We have evohome but I'm sure the operation is the same. Our evohome trained fitter fitted ours like this and it's worked flawlessly for 5 years. hTH

Managed to get these from Amazon for £62 for 2 (£31 each). Don't know whether to go for these now or wait again? Don't often go on offer!
Can these work with a Nest thermostat?

I suppose it depends how urgently you need them or if you just want the task complete and move on to other things. Black Friday and Xmas/New Year sales are not too far away. Prices could though be the same as these offers again.

eBay could have one of its discount code promotions again too.

I bought the Argos V3 starter pack deal. Consists of a V3 internet bridge and 2 TRVs for £89.99. Seems to be near enough sold out now.
if the Tado thermostat in your hal way senses the correct temperature will it turn the boiler off so this don't work or do they over rule it so the one room heats up . Maybe a silly question
Are these backward compatible with tado V2?

Yes: tado Starter Kit (V2, V3, V3+) including the Internet Bridge forms the basis of your setup

Here's the thing that has always bugged me. In the usual (i.e. ridiculous) one switch whole house on/off set up WHY do plumbers/heating engineers insist on putting the whole house thermostat in arguably the coldest room in the house? It's guaranteed to have your boiler firing way more than it should be.

I think it may depend how you have set up the system in the app. Do you mean the thermostat is in a different room and with or without a smart TRV in the same location but the hallway has a smart TRV which hasn't reached the requested temperature?

If one radiator calls for heat then yes it tells the thermostat to tell the boiler to turn on. It also means any radiators that have no tado get heat when this happens.

I love the idea of these (I have Tado) and this is the bit that always makes me question them, however i have just bought these. The reason is that I will use the 4 to control key rooms in the house on a morning and evening during the week combined with the main thermostat.

I figure I can turn off the rads in my kitchen and living room on a morning as I never use them. In the same way I will turn off the bedrooms on an evening until nearer the time I go to bed.

The only logical reason I can think of is conventional TVR's stop the rooms from getting too hot by closing when the coldest room/thermostat is still requesting heat.

This increases the chance of the rooms reaching the desired temperatures before the boiler shuts down.

If the thermostat was put in the warmest room it would shut the boiler down before the other rooms have a chance at reaching the desired temperature set by the TVR's.
