Please explain?
Really? Love my SMP - if I could pick one up for £840 I’d be all over it
Tag seems to be dropping harshly in value. People realised they are just a fashion brand perhaps.
This is cheaper than the used ones on watchfinder so heat from me

It's a quartz. It's efficient, granted. But.... Quartz.

You obviously don’t know about the different quartz movements available then.
£699 in TK Max in black.
Forget about TAG quartz movements, most of TAG Automatics these days aren't really Swiss! They use Seiko automatic movements!!!!!!
If you want a decent Sports Watch that is sort of a quartz then go for a Citizen Eco Drive model.

Yeah, because a TAG at under a grand is in any way comparable to a Patek at half a mil.

I know enough to know that the quartz movement in this is going to be very poor compared to the Grand Seiko 9f, for example.
Don't think there's much to talk about here. A Tag quartz for this price is pretty standard. Nobody should be paying sticker price.

You seem to have answered your own question. Try finding a premium watch brand with a mechanical movement for less than £1500. This is a very good deal. What do you own as your go to timepiece?

It's a poor deal. It's a quartz for nearly a grand. I didn't actually ask a question, I simply stated that you'd need to be mad to pay that much for (a relatively poor) quartz.

Anyway, since you asked, my current "go to" is an Omega Speedmaster, which no doubt you'll tell me is crap or somesuch. At the more "value" end of my automatic collection, I have a number of Seikos (inc. first gen orange monster and a couple of samurais), a couple of Hamiltons, one each of pretty much every major watch brand. And... a Casio marlin (because it's one hell of a decent watch for the price, and yes, quartz).

Anyway, just to prove the point, I'm not knocking TAG as such, I have a few of their automatics myself. It just seems that people are buying the brand here.

Quite right, a TAG at under a grand is a reasonable price.

I've enjoyed your argument 😁 but have to say a tag under 1k is a deal for me
And the Monaco for £1120 is a steel!!!!
Black one comes out at £760 with code or £716 for the black strap.

For £1320 seems good.Looks good and automatic movement with GMT function in a Batman style bezel. The "Formula 1" kind of puts of me off a bit though.

Car Lease threads can only DREAM of being as divisive as watch threads.

TK had some Tags online last week actually. Not blistering deals but better prices than available elsewhere.
