Let’s go round again! So to get things moving, I will start it off with the following comments to save others the effort.

1. Thanks OP, I bought 10 for FleaBay.
2. My £10 Casio is more accurate than this.
3. Cheers OP, I bought 4 for the Dog.
4. I prefer my (insert name of completely unrelated watch) and I am just here to willy wave.
5. Ridiculous, I could get a second hand car for that price.
6. This is a deals site, people on here don’t have that much money to waste on a watch.
7. Why do I need a watch when I have a phone?
8. Ridiculous, I could lease a basic family car for approx 24 Months for that price.
9. Pah, Hardlex, I’ll pass. (sorry, wrong thread).
10. Expensive for a rebadged Swatch.
11. 150m WR and worn no deeper than desk level.
12. Looks like something I’d buy in Argos/Matalan/Home Bargains/Etc.
13. Cold, I bought mine in 1980 oat cake and it was cheaper than this.
14. Cheers OP I bought one for each wrist.
15. We need to rename this site Hot UK Rich People’s Deals.
16. The Rich (an undefined group) are responsible for all the worlds problems.

It's got absolutely nothing to do with tax. The only tax due here is VAT. I don't have an accountant anymore cos I'm PAYE. When I wasn't I had to have one becuase I'm not an accountant and I don't know what I'm doing. I did learn a bit though, I'm interested in whatever fraud you are engaging in to claim a luxury watch as a business expense. I'm calling full of rubbish But you might know more than me so please elaborate.

As a fully fledged 6 figure earning accountant working in one of the big 4 in The City I'm sure you realise the tax year runs April to April...

Anyway I wasn't talking to you. I was just talking about you. I'm telling the guy who I replied to to not look at the world around him and assume everyone can afford what they have. I know a guy who earns 1/3 what I do and he has a more expensive car than me, always has new clothes etc. His money has never lasted a whole month in the entire time I've known him, forget about building the warchest. Looks can be deceiving. Judge yourself by your own achievement, seek to feel fulfilled and comfortable in life. Not to show off. You'll never be happy.

It's just a little bit of wisdom we all need to remind ourselves sometimes. That lady who comes and drops her kids off at school in her pyjamas driving a range rover Evoque has probably never had £40k in her current account... Other people driving 5 year old ford focuses will be maxing their pension and ISA allowances.

Bought a tag heuer watch on holiday for 3 pounds
Does anyone else not think this watch is ugly?

I mean I could totally afford it if I sell my car but....really.....people like this watch?

That's what a credit card is for, if you don't get a bonus that's what a refund is for lol
Oh damn it, I've fancied this watch for a while now and that's a belter of a price!!

True true. But you don't have my wife! Have to be quite timely (excuse the pun) with these sorts of purchases. Plus my bonus is still tbc based on how markets perform. Complicated I know

I’m in the wrong job!
The signature Tag imo

It's OK. From a financial standpoint it's a terrible idea. You don't go spending £3k on a watch if you have to wait for bonus month to do it.
Also works on the Carrera auto with the black strap
One of the few tags I actually like and at a great price - heat,
Heat added. Only TAG I like

OK .... Explain to me how spending £3K of a taxable bonus is better for tax reasons than say taking the bonus in cash? I assume in some way you are proposing presenting the watch purchase as a tax deductible business expense or otherwise?

Claiming VAT back on it and getting bigger bonus (VAT portion)

On what basis are you claiming VAT back on a watch and in what capacity? Employee PAYE? Sole Trader? Ltd Company?

20. Why anyone would send that on a watch is beyond me.

The Carrera Automatic Chronograph is £2,476 after the discount. That is a great price as well.

Don't want to get caught up in this as not taking sides at all but it also depends on where your business is registered as different countries have different opinions around 'gifts' for employees.
3k for a watch... I would be scared to wear it
