First deal submitted. Had a few problems my end but hopefully all will be okay.
Used these vouchers last year and saved a fortune especially if you travel first class!!
I used a couple of booking forms and did Birmingham to Penzance return in first class for £30!! Best thing was that they did not collect booking forms so was able to use them again!!
Can choose between Virgin Trains, GNER, First Great Western, Midland Mainline, one, Southern and Chiltern. Upto four people can travel on a set of three tokens.
Remember to take your tokens with you when you travel as they validate your promotional tickets.
Simply collect 3 differently dated Daily Mail Rail tokens and attach them to the Collector Coupon which you can download here if you missed it in the paper. Also this download one appears to have a bonus token so you only need to collect 2 more!!
Some have to be booked over the phone and others can be booked on the internet.
Be creative and have some fun!!

You can get example fares from virgin web site athttp://www.virgintrains.co.uk/dailymail but until the paper comes out with that days company you will not be able to ring/book anything as far as I am aware. Saturday was ONE and you have to ring (0845 850 9040) to book. Sunday is Midland Mainline. Monday is First Great Western. Tuesday is Chiltern railways. Wednesday is Southern. Thursday is Virgin. Friday is GNER. All except ONE and Chiltern can be done online on or after the day detailed above. Obviously you will need to book early to get best chance of getting dates/times you want.

where can you download the form from?

You can get the form from herehttp://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2007/01_wk4/rail_voucher.gif

First Great Western booking website is up and running for this deal. In fact, it seems that most of the good seats are gone already! I've tried to get a weekend away from Plymouth - London and no seats on Sat AND Sun. Tried for just a day trip on Sat, and no availability in both directions. Tried every weekend through Feb and March! Reasonable availibility if you are travelling off-peak during the week.

This is a bit annoying as FGW are due to feature on Monday in the Daily Mail and this is an online-offer only. So people buying Monday's paper will most likely be too late!

Why not go first class (although I was not impressed with FGW first class) as there may be more options and although more expensive still a good deal as appears to be only £5 more than their cheapest fare anyway. Just a thought:)

H:? H:? ello can anyone help I am trying to book from New Street Birmingham to Leeds however all I keep getting is normal travel prices I am using Midlan Mainline is the offer not up and running yet any help much appreciated. Thanks

Good find, thanks.

Sites up but I dont think you can't book yet, or at least its not showing any on these prices for me (not even sold out)

I thought they were supposed to be raising prices to try to prevent trains being overcrowded all the time, not making things worse!

Haven't travelled by train in many years so can someone answer this? I understand children under 5 travel free but does that include first class?

These fares are unlikely to be available at peak times, when trains tend to be overcrowded.

Make sure you're clicking through the Daily Mail link. You need to fill in the silly questionnaire bit first, before it takes you to the booking page. If you leave the page and head straight to the normal booking pages on FGW site, the daily mail deals won't show.
The Daily Mail prices are shown highlighted in green. To book, you click on the radio buttons if they are shown alongside the price. If they aren't shown, there are no tickets left for that price. I've gone right through until the final checkout pages and seems to be working fine. Just can't find a good enough deal to fit around a weekend.

where on the daily mail site is the direct link to book cheap fares ? i cant find this. cheers.

On the virgin t+c it says that you need 3 different vouchers but if you print the form off online it gives you a bonus voucher so do i still need 3 or just 2 now?

Update of what I've found for First Great Western

Quite alot of availability of tickets to Oxford on Sat-Sun journies for £2/3 return. However, their cheapest normal fares are about the same, so not worth it.

Availability on trains to Cardiff as well on weekends (late feb onwards). A bit of a reduction there.

Seems to be absolutely no outward journies available for trips to the Eden Project in Cornwall (Par or St Austell!). I realise that they're a 7/8 hour journey, but still... I've searched weekends, weekdays, March... nothing!

Midland Mainline do not run from Birmingham to Leeds. You will need to either use Virgin all the way or if there is not a suitable ticket for you try Birmingham-Derby then Midland Mainline to Leeds. This may work out best option if you after a specific time/date. However you will need two collector coupons to do this. You will also need to wait until Thursday before you can book with Virgin.

Many thanks for the advice it was showing options for travel however it did say Virgin rail thats why it doesn't work.I will try on Thursday thanks for advice.

From what I can see you will only need to get 2 more vouchers. They will print Bonus tokens in the Daily Mail this week anyway incase you miss any but this appears to be an added Bonus:-D

This route will be with Virgin and you will not be able to start booking the special fares until Thursday so you will have to be patient!

Link for Virgin for booking will be www.virgin.com/trains/dailymail

thank you very much.. I appreciate your time ,help and advice.. cheers

check if there is a cheaper option before booking, especially if taking kids, ie From Cambridge to London with this offer for 2 adults and 2 kids costs more than an ordinary family one day railcard.

Can someone explain to me if it is possible to get from the South (i.e. Reading or Basingstoke) to London return on one of these deals? I've been going through each rail service and I can't work out if it is possible or not.

Why are tickets to Penrith soooo expensive:-( I checked a few up till May, and it's all the same:x

I suppose it depends where you are going from!? Just booked my daughter from Birmingham to Penrith for £15 return:thumbsup:

Also please note that the cheap tickets only run until the end of March so you will not get anything to cheap after that. Also Virgin do not generally release their cheaper tickets until 8 weeks before. May be an idea to try 8 weeks or so before you wish to travel. Hope that helps:)

Mine's from London:oops: .
Thanks for the info though;-) 8 weeks - I'll remember that:thumbsup:

I have booked tickets to London 14 Feb through the daily mail deal. Now I have only collected two tokens, but I have downloaded the online form which includes a bonus token. Is it ok? Anyone who has tried this? Thank you very much!

Just went to cut out and stick my tokens on my form and realised I'd picked up Daily Express for one of the days. I've already bought my ticket too!

Anyone have a spare token please? I will pay postage.

Matt:oops:

Can post you one no probs but I very much doubt you will need it. We went on Sat and Sun on the train (Virgin) and the inspector didnt ask us for the form on either trip. It just says promotional fare on the ticket, you will be fine.

Just checked the tickets. Looks like I will be fine.

Thanks abomb1969. Rep added

Londson to Redruth (Cornwall) £36 return in First Class, Bargain, cheaper than using my car, No standard class tickets available on dates I wanted, but enjoyed F/C lots of room nice and quiet etc and free refreshments

Went from Birmingham to Glasgow first class on Monday for £15 using this offer. Unfortunately my connection to Birmingham was delayed so I missed the direct one, had to travel via Crew on Central Trains.

Was able to use the first class coach on Central too though, and then from Crew by Virgin. I think I was provided with more than £15 of food to be honest never mind the ticket

We Travelled from Stoke to birmingham on Sat/sun.. No problems here with tickets.. never asked us for the vouchers..

hope they run another offer like this again:thumbsup:
