if you're already with them, this is a standard deal. if you're not, then this might be cheaper than what you're getting ripped off with by all the EXTORTIONATE providers out there...

This is on the Vodafone network. So ask a friend on Vodafone what the reception is like around you first. It's pretty poor where I am.

Edit: as already stated. X)

same with me

I got this deal in April - cashback of approx £42 due within "14 weeks", not received yet.
its still a good deal at £10 a month but worth remembering it is 3G and the Vodafone network can be patchy.

don't assume the same coverage as Vodafone. For some reason it is much worse where I live when comparing Voda and Talk mobile SIMS in the same phone. In places round the village I am getting 4G Voda and very little on Talk mobile. couldn't work out why so kept Voda for me and gave Talk mobile to wife who doesn't need data.

can someone clarify, is this 3 gig or 4 gig of data to use every month, and is it at 4g speed or 3 g. thank you

I applied for a cheap 24month contract with TalkMobile the other day. My credit rating is good. Got rejected

So my husband tried in his name... Also got rejected! Absolutely no idea why! He does already have a mobile contract but it's just a £7.50 a month mobile one he's had with tesco for many years and the one we were applying for was £12.50. We live like monks and have no defaults, steady income same job for years etc. Be interested to know if other people experience similar problems.

I think you'll find that Talk Mobile are now owned by Vodafone as CPW now has it's own network ID Mobile

All the Talkmobile threads seem to be getting republished.

This deal is available on a 30 day rolling basis (with lower/ no cashback)
Much safer IMO with anything linked to Vodafone.

Also, Talkmobile haven't been part of carphonewarehouse for years.
They are 100% owned by Vodafone.

This deal is different from the post for the 30 day SIM offering the same mins/text/data. I was going to go for the 30 day SIM but it made more sense to go the Cash back route.

Afaik the 30 day sim-only deal is a lot less minutes or i would have gone for it don't like 12mts contracts just in-case something goes wrong then you can always leave.

Thought id mobile was three?

3G coverage on Vodafone varies dramatically from postcode to postcode. 3G download speeds of 10MB/s at my office vs. 0.20 MB/s at home. Used to enjoy 25MB/s 4G speeds on iDMobile(Three network) at home.

So def. worth checking the coverage in your area. vodafone.co.uk/exp…ap/

Sorry, don't know how the above happened without my reply .
Haven't been rejected as such as far as we are aware, but further information required i.e. copy of latest Bank Statement which was duly sent last Sunday. Talked to the web chat, who are, incidentally in the USA and are saying it takes 2-5 days for a decision.
In the same boat as others, lived at the same address for 25 years, full time employment, no debt whatsoever, had mobile contract since forever, all utility bills by DD including Council Tax so really don't know what's to stop a plan with them. Checked emails this morning and still nothing from them. Really, about to give up quite frankly.

Cap this if you do it there an hateful company when something inevitably goes wrong

Signed up with these on a similar deal a few months ago. Service is okay but a few of things to bring to your attention:

1. They tried setting the payment plan to £12.50 pm instead of the £10 stated. Probably just an error but something to keep in mind.

2. Had to escalate cashback with Quidco after around 4 months who kindly paid the cashback out of their own pockets because Talkmobile still hadn't paid up.

3. Possibly due to my ignorance but my first bill wound up being £25 due to (avoidable)hidden data charges. Just make sure you're aware of them that's all.

Someone was saying the 30 day contract was the same as this contract but its not this contract is 12mths and 3000min and the 30 day is 1500 still good but not the same.
I am an oldie but i don't use 200min a month let alone 1500 as you said that is for the youngsters i use more data then calls and text.
I'm one of the lucky ones that got the life mobile deal for a £1 a month for 4000mins 5000text 4gb data not bad hey

no. I am TalkMobile (formerly Carphone Warehouse). Been with them for 4 years.

The two packages are identical for most people - 1500 mins or 3000 mins are both effectively unlimited, 4GB data and effectively unlimited texts.

The cashback isn't guaranteed so you could locking yourself into Voda 3G for a year for nothing. I prefer 30 day sim-only deals unless a handset or guaranteed casback is available.

I also did when I applied months ago. Turns out it's because I had a vodafone contract too. They are not very good at merging them. They think it's fraud so decline.

I agree i only use 30 day contracts that way if you get any problems you can always leave.
what some people don't realize is with the cashback you can wait months for it and get nothing.
I have an ID Mobile contract which i have had from jan this year not had any problems with them the only thing i had to go to TCB and tell them that the cashback is not showing up in my dashboard so TCB got on to them and i got it last month but they did pay up in the end.

called Vodafone and got matching tariff..

might be worth giving it a try..

Unfortunately in my case, the service is inferior. Still haven't got the sim card (ordered 23/06) despite responding to their request for copy bank statement and waiting the 2-5 working days for a decision. After speaking with them via web chat 3 times last week, today's web chat reveals they haven't got the proof they require (no un-delivered emails back to me may I add). I have re-sent it, but no auto acknowledgement which they said happens. I would give up, but it is such a good deal for me as my current payment to EE is £28 so a big difference.

Vodafone could only offer 15% off their existing tariffs. Are you an existing customer? Did you go to a particular team to get the match?

You need to apply through Quidco or Topcashback at the beginning of the order in order to get cashback. So, if you haven't gone down this route, there is absolutely no chance of getting it now.

I have been rejected yet again so have given up. My credit rating is perfect, have never ever had any problems in the past. The service has been absolutely abysmal from Talkmobile but reading comments about Voda makes me think they have given me a lucky break. Ordered O2 sim on Sunday night (slightly more monthly payment but works out cheaper if the cashback materialises) and its being delivered today. My brother in law is on O2 and says its OK so will give it a go.
