Talk Mobile is a MVNO running on Vodafone - no 4g is included

I realise Talkmobile is a MVNO, which network does it use and is this 4g data?

Vodafone

My apologies, I did edit the thread as soon as I posted but it didn't update. Re-edited and info is up - Vodafone no 4g

I'm so tempted, but the reviews of Talkmobile are really bad - possibly even worse than Vodafone!

But it's only a 30 day contract so not a big deal if it doesn't work out.
Every network gets panned on here so it clearly depends where you live.

Happy customer of Talkmobile.

Can't really fault them to be honest. It is pretty much no frills. I get a signal. I don't go over the allowance. I pretty much have no reason to ever call or contact customer services and find it strange how often people seem to need to but each to their own. Lack of 4G is irrelevant for me but if you have a need for it then they won't be much cop for you.

As mentioned above, it's only rolling 30 days. If it's pony, then leave. I wouldn't lock myself in a 12 or 24 month contract anymore and if things do turn out for the worse with Talkmobile I'll be off like silver.

I will stick with GiffGaff

Currently on this plan and never had an issue.

Nah... it's the reviews of their customer service which put me off. Vodafone have the best coverage around here.
Even with a 30 day contract, I'd worry about Talkmobile destroying my credit rating because of one of their "errors".

Do they allow tethering?

Worked for me.

Spoke to them about payg and contract accounts, they were good, old reviews may refer to the carphonewarehouse owner not Voda being the owner now. care certainly eaily beats Vodafone care.

I used Talkmobile when they were part of Carphone Warehouse and their customer service was just about ok.
Most recent reviews slate Talkmobile for billing errors which go unresolved for months, which impact your credit file, so this is why I'm apprehensive about trying them.
Ok, some people don't seem to have a problem with them, but if you do, it sounds like you're in a world of pain.

Avoid talkmobile.

Been without mobile data since taking up a contract with them and they just keep blaming Vodafone (which is probably fair) or work being done in my area (any part of the UK where the phone has travelled). They won't even refund until the problem is resolved which they don't have any timescale for.

I'm not even angry, just amazed at how poor they are at running a business and how quickly they pass the buck.

Very strange operation.

What's giffgaff's speed like these days? Big reason I left was due to poor data speed.

Well, that and the outages they were having at the time.
