I spoke to Talkmobile hoping to upgrade to this today. The advisor seemingly acknowledged that the offer had been on before but that it had finished last week. Best they could do me (as an upgrade at least) was 10gb @ £13/month or £16.25/month for 20gb (i.e. 35% off the equivalent Vodafone plans).

Anyone know what the timeframe is on this? Are TM still taking customers? I'm currently a Vodafone SIM only contract customer, so the obvious thing to do would be to swap over to TM to get locked in on the better deals on the migration back to VF...

Is this still a current offer does anyone know? When you click on get deal it takes you to the talk mobile website but only shows ....."sim only deals from £5 per month" i spoke to them today before seeing this and they offered me SIMI - £12 month - 12GB data, 5000 mins, 5000 text (mad)

Beej93 - I see the logo for your deal has changed to Talk Mobile. Thank you for sorting out the confusion. £9.50/mo for that bundle seems like pretty good value (especially as it seems like a general deal for Talk Mobile customers and you don't have to faff around with cashback). Have some heat! It hasn't helped the confusion that Talk Mobile (on Vodafone) and TalkTalk Mobile (on O2) are simultaneously shutting down and offering deals directly with their carriers! Hope your deal recovers and thanks for posting!

I have a SIMO service with TalkTalk Mobile, which I got for free by being a broadband customer. They've been warning their customers for a few months that they are shutting down their mobile operations (they are a MVNO running on O2). My TalkTalk Mobile service definitely uses O2 and they've now offered me a discounted SIMO deal directly with O2. I'll have to pay for it (rather than being free) but it's a good price for a low usage customer like myself. Might you be confusing Talk Mobile and TalkTalk Mobile?

Loved my Plusnet mobile until I went into hospital in the outskirts of Crewe and it wouldn't work. Bloke next to me had Plusnet also the same problems. The wifes 02 network and my sons Vodafone worked fabulously! Must admit I was scratching my head wondering why no signal when it piggy backs on EE/ORANGE/BT etc?

Just got a Talkmobile upgrade yesterday from £10 a month for 4Gb to £12 for 12 GB . Beat that .

Mine changed before Christmas. 50% off Vodafone standard plans IIRC.

They change their deals every 1-2 weeks.... Hold off until they do 4-5gb for £10

They don't offer that 4gb @ £10 per month at the moment, but I have found with plusnet 3GB data - 1000 minutes 2000 texts for £8.00 per month on a 1 month contract - might just go with that. I am with talktalk and they are changing my plan to 500MB data 400 minutes unlimited texts @ £14.50 per month - even with the op's offer its a no brainer really.

Regarding the billing situation, I popped my sim in today and left it to go through the motions of registering on the network. Then opened the My Vodafone app on the phone and it popped up straight away with my next bill of £19.60 and the 6gb data allowance. I guess they just had to get all the accounts updated.

Yes DPD rescheduled for tomorrow apparently at my request 👹 Contacted them and they said they had been overloaded due to Black Friday and some delivered were being delayed of which mine was one

Anyone else had a DPD delivery issues? Given 2 days both cancelled late in the day wife not to happy waiting in all day. Rang Vodaphone to complain they were great took details and will call DPD tomorrow and call me back. Vodafone service much better than I expected DPD on par with Yodel

My Purple Orchid Grey one is being delivered tomorrow. \o/

Is the 50% off just on Vodafone Sim Only contracts or phone contracts too?

And some Vodafone/Talkmobile PAYG malarkey....

I wonder why that is happening....

Does certainly seem that way - Vodafone reducing TALKMOBILE signal /service quality for some reason.

Thanks, seaniboy. I didn't know that. Just looked at Wikipedia which states, "Vodafone bought Talkmobile from Carphone Warehouse in 2015. In May 2017 Talkmobile stopped selling new contracts and PAYG SIMS, and is currently in the process of migrating existing customers across to Vodafone.[citation needed] The PAYG network will close completely on 31st August 2017."

Voda bought TM from Carphonewarehouse years ago, this allowed CPW to then set up ID Mobile some time later after the sale. Just to complete it I expect CPW next venture will be o2 led lol Fresh - T-Mobile TalkMobile - Vodafone ID Mobile - Three

People need to understand that there are certain circumstances where they may still be charged for roaming even with the new rules. This applies if you use it too much abroad and also possibly if you have cheap data, it's a bit of an unknown at the moment.

Are they including the channel islands do you know? Technically not in the eu so some providers leaving them out

And talkmobile is being absorbed by vodafone! But you have a choice to take pac so will only be one main mvno of voda soon!

If you browse the whole site you would see this has been mentioned a lot of times. New threads being started every couple of days. If you follow this link you will find all the threads regarding this This is why this 'deal' has been voted cold by people.

Hi guys. Thanks for your response on this page. I actually decided not to go for the contract, called them and cancelled. Ended up going for one of the S7 edge deals from Mobile phones direct. £28 a month, phone included, 30gb data, unlimited calls, unlimited texts. Bargain

you sound like you've never used 3g........ I've used both and frankly while 4g is faster 3g is perfectly adequate for most things. much like 38mb fibre is fine yet you can get much faster.......its newer and faster so you 'want' it you don't necessarily need it. if you would like to enlighten us muggles then please have at it with you list of things that are 'useless for all kinds of data usage' would like a chuckle X)

It does seem mad, but i guess voda bought then to get a few more customers, it looks from the page that PAYG is finishing for talkmobile, i have been looking at delight, they seem fairly good, using EE, I was after a voda package but they all seem too costly. I believe voda charge more for their network as they are "upgrading" the system, but to be fair they seem to be the only ones still putting up towers, and they even have a "report a poor signal area" program. If someone can actually put out actual figures on coverage i would be very interested as this 99% is a load of rubbish, either that or I'm extremely unlucky, living in the cotswolds several areas have no signal at all. if only someone like pebble or jump was cheaper, they could soon get a huge client base. but then 5p a minute 5p a text and 5p per Mb is probably cheaper than most PAYG networks

Will the contracts end soon too! Voda ate idiots if they think having one brand they are going to keep all their customers then they need to think again! Think how many mvno EE have how much network they rent out and making money off! Surely to have someone like sky mobile or something would make them more money

if you do a search on talkmobile they are closing down the PAYG service in august so not such a good deal, Have been looking at freedompop and their £6.99 deal of unlimited calls and text, with 2gb data. but have heard mixed things. does anyone know a cheap monthly service with either EE or vodaphone as three and o2 have poor signal quality in my area

Patcho I wouldn't port my 200 gbp gold number into a data reward sim as you may not be able to leave no legal requirement and withdraw the international rate in the UK. That makes the usual 321 deal the best for me.

I spoke with TalkMobile (TM) this morning to ask why their website is not showing the detail of the £7.50 per month SIM. The man I spoke with said that Vodafone is going to take over - has anyone else heard this? I did wonder why we hadn't seen any good TM deals recently...

well I went to go for this but rang my 3 network I have been with since 2013 and told them I am going with the above, she said hang on I will speak with manager, come back a few minutes later and offered me unlimited minutes and texts and 4gb of 4g data for £9.99 a month , so stayed with three network.

I'm using Talkmobile for an year now. The network is as good as Vodafone, but their customer support is exceptionally good. I'd stick to them just because of this.

Yeah, I guess it's different in different areas. Where I am (Milton Keynes) only O2 and Vodafone have good coverage at home/work/shopping centre, so this is a more attractive deal than ID Mobile or Plusnet or any other as most of them are either Three or EE piggybacks.

yikes. sounds really bad. i changed to life mobile easily. don't know how good they are now plusnet

Well I have had what has been a horrendous experience so far. Signed up for £12 a month and called them to port my number in from BT. they gave me jan 3rd and said "turn your phone off from 10am to 5pm. So like a muppet I did turned it on just after 5pm and number not ported. They then managed to get my number from BT and have still not assigned it so for 4 days no one can call me and more importantly no one can or will help me. So i called "retentions" and they can't give me PAC (i'm leaving under the 14 day rule) until they finally fix my number. On top of this I login to my account (which has my ported number now assigned to it) and see they are going to charge me for paper billing (i don't want paper billing) and the 12 quid a month is plus VAT - what the actual **** are these muppets up to, Roll on tomorrow and I am cancelling - i've opened a case with resolver and plan to take it to the ombudsman to get my number back which i've had for over two decades. I'm sure many people have positive experiences but let me assure you when it goes wrong egypt can only apologise, they are TOTALLY unable to help or point you in the right direction.

problem with three in central london is buildings. their network was on 2100mhz i believe which has problems penetrating buildings. lower frequencies are better for that and other companies had that bandwidth. i could never get a signal in my office or in cafes with three so cancelled it.

I'm wondering What's coverage like with videophone in and around London ? EE has been good but they are not offering any loyalty incentive to stay on. I have been with Tesco (O2) before they also had very good coverage. I'm worried that vodaphone will be like useless Three.

What's giffgaff's speed like these days? Big reason I left was due to poor data speed. Well, that and the outages they were having at the time.

Avoid talkmobile. Been without mobile data since taking up a contract with them and they just keep blaming Vodafone (which is probably fair) or work being done in my area (any part of the UK where the phone has travelled). They won't even refund until the problem is resolved which they don't have any timescale for. I'm not even angry, just amazed at how poor they are at running a business and how quickly they pass the buck. Very strange operation.

I used Talkmobile when they were part of Carphone Warehouse and their customer service was just about ok. Most recent reviews slate Talkmobile for billing errors which go unresolved for months, which impact your credit file, so this is why I'm apprehensive about trying them. Ok, some people don't seem to have a problem with them, but if you do, it sounds like you're in a world of pain.

Spoke to them about payg and contract accounts, they were good, old reviews may refer to the carphonewarehouse owner not Voda being the owner now. care certainly eaily beats Vodafone care.
