TalkTalk half price line rental, free broadband + £121.20 cashback (Term £212.40)

24
Found 26th Nov 2015
18 month contract

Line rental
£8.85 x 12 months = £106.20
£17.70 x 6 months = £106.20

Total line rental cost = £212.40

£212.40 divided by 18 months = £11.80 a month, so not great, especially considering the PlusNet deal and the fact that you are tied in for 18 months.

However, factor the £121.20 cashback from TopCashback, and the cost becomes £212.40 - £121.20 = £91.20 for the 18 months
or £5.07 a month

Quidco are offering £110 cashback instead.

I'm sorry to hear that, very frustrating, if both the phone and the broadband are knocked out it sounds like a line check to establish where the fault is has to be carried out. If you are getting no dial tone perhaps try these steps recommended by BT.

http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9812/session/L2F2LzEvdGltZS8xNDQ4NTI0MzU5L3NpZC9taFFpWHJDbQ%3D%3D#gs=eyJndWlkZUlEIjoxOTksInF1ZXN0aW9uSUQiOjEsInJlc3BvbnNlSUQiOjEsImd1aWRlU2Vzc2lvbiI6IkUtaW9YckNtIiwic2Vzc2lvbklEIjoibWhRaVhyQ20ifQ..&h=

You want to be sure it is not at your end, i.e. the phone and filters, because if it is the you are liable for the call out fee for the engineer. This means you must do the test on the master socket, this is where the phone line is introduced into your home, any other sockets feed from that point.

I'm with talk talk now, just paying the standard tariff as I'm out of contract. Do tell about the plus net deal. Unlimited broadband with no hidden limits or speed throttling is important to me.

Talk talk are dreadful if you need to ask them anything.
Hi, the plus net deal works out at £10.72 a month.

Here's a link to the deal I posted yesterday:

hotukdeals.com/dea…251

So far Sky, BT, Plusnet, and now TalkTalk have all decided to "blkfrday" if you are keen to swap, and are in a Virgin area, it might be worth waiting for Friday to see if they offer any deals?
I've been with talktalk for a few years, and I intend to leave once I'm out of contract. I've had numerous errors with my billing (always in talktalks favor). After the hacking scandal I still can't get full access to my Account.

Service wise, I can't really complain.
Hi Dave,

You may be able to leave because of the loss of trust and confidence implicit in any contract. Here's link to an article from 23 October in This is money - a Daily Mail publication:

http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/news/article-3292565/The-small-print-says-quit-TalkTalk-Hacked-telecoms-giant-refusing-let-customers-leave-without-paying-fees-ve-loophole.html

It has a template you might want to use.

If you want to leave don't let too much time pass as you may be deemed to have accepted what you are saying is a breach of the contract, and then any protestations may be too late. By too long I'd say, if you are in good health and don't experience any major life upsets, 2 months max.
If i join i might cut out the middle man (talktalk) and just hand in all my bank details to the local teenage hacker.
What are the deals for fibre for those who are out of contact with TalkTalk?
The Plusnet deal is not fibre. The cheap offer is for ASDL.
The irony is BT Infinity is not available to me due to a high demand area, yet Plusnet (which is an expensive version of BT, owned by BT) can provide it. BT offer is great for 12 months and then you leave.
I, my neighbour and some of my family had a very bad customer experience with Talk Talk, so can only advise against.

Surely this is a better deal...works out at less than £3.80/mth and only a 12mth contract. Don't know how good sky are yet, but really can't do any worse than Talk Talk.

Sky -12 months free Sky Broadband Unlimited.

Choose from Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 or £100 M&S or Tesco e-voucher or £100 Prepaid MasterCard. (Claimed via sky once service is activated)

£70.70 Topcashback (must not have been a customer with sky for at least 12mths)

Line rental is going up to £17.40 in December, so prices based on that.

So, upfront cost £6.95 + £17.40/mth = £215.75 for the year, before deducting Cashback and voucher.

£215.75 - £100(voucher) - £70.70 (Cashback) = £45.05 for the year

£45.05 over 12 months = £3.75 ish per month.

So £3.75/mth for broadband and phone line for a year after taking Cashback and voucher into cosideration..seems ok to me, but obviously Cashback is always a risk, so best to treat it as a bonus if all goes well.

It at leases gives another option.

Sorry to hi-jack your post with another deal, but I don't bother posting deals anymore as went through a lot of trouble last time and moderator deleted it as they said it was shipped from abroad when clearly it wasn't! But there you go.

A bit risky when relying on the Quidco- there is that small probability that it doesn't track or they don't pay- otherwise this is a smashing deal.
TalkTalk will offer the same deal to existing out of contract customers, but not the cashback. BT deal is better if you can get Fibre!
i have just £25 quidco tracked, ordered fiber 38mb broadband with tv and phone. Any idea of why £125 not tracked?

The £125 cashback is for simply broadband only - not fibre broadband or plus/ essentials tv.

If you want the full kaboodle cancel the deal with Talk Talk, (cancellations have tobe over the phone or via snail mail) and wait for what EE and Virgin have to offer tomorrow.
Ordered thanks
Ordered using quidco but only got £110 tracked not £125 (still good deal in my opinion) although reconsidering now as spent 2.5 hours waiting for talk talk to answer call as also trying to buy a sim plan but have to be existing tt customer but not recognising me as a customer yet!

Quidco have dropped the amount of cashback to £110, Top Cashback are now offering £126.

Since TalkTalk restricted access to "my account" to only those accessing from their home lines I expect that they will have experienced an upshot in phone/ webchat contacts as people cannot process things like orders or payments unless they are at home. This combined with the Black Friday deals might explain your long wait? Two and a half hours is ridiculous.

when does this deal end today ? or tomorrow. ?

Hi Paul,

It ends tonight at midnight. There is a count down clock in the right hand side of the TalkTalk page which gives a real time indication of how long is left.
The vanilla 17 Mb PlusNet deal seems quite good but fibre deals work out expensive at £27.15 (38 Mb) & 32.15 PCM. TalkTalk 38Mb works out at £15.62 PCM.

Good deal if you can stomach the service.

Will they offer this deal to existing customers?

Hi,

I'm afraid the terms and conditions state,

"SimplyBroadband and Fibre Broadband offer available to new fibre broadband customers only. 100% monthly SimplyBroadband subscription discount and 50% monthly Fibre Medium (up to 38Mb) discount for first 18 bills; 50% monthly line rental discount for first 12 bills; full monthly package price thereafter."

Hi Adam,

The cashback has decreased to £121.20.

You need to set up an account with Topcashback (TCB):

https://www.topcashback.co.uk/home

Then search for TalkTalk on their website. Here is a link to the page you should be taken to:

http://www.topcashback.co.uk/talk-talk/

Then click through to the simply broadband offer, the link on TCB will take you to TalkTalk's website and the TCB website should indicate that it has recorded your visit.

You then have to buy the product from TalkTalk without leaving their website. If you leave the TalkTalk website, for instance the internet connection is broken, you have to go back to TCB and repeat the "leap" from one website to the other.

At the moment the TalkTalk's space on TCB has a hummingbird fluttering about, if you click on the hummingbird you will also be entered into a competition to win £10,000 automtomatically.

i had the same problem. I waited nearly 1hr twice to talk to the talktalk agent.
first time, I was told I can't get the sim card as I only ordered the broadband on black Friday.
So I called second time to cancel my order. Guess wt? the agent ordered a new sim for me!
Plusnet aren't good either!
