What £2 discount from last year?
Last year i renewed online was £6.50 for call package but got £2.00 discount for 12 months so £4.50
Looks like ive kept it plus half price for 12 months.
Hi, what number did you call for retentions?
I just got a similar deal from them, but only because I rang them wanting to switch to Sky. They gave me the 1 years line rental £114 up front package and 1 year half price evening and weekend calls as well as unlimited broadband for £3.25 a month. Yesterday I got a letter that says they are putting their package up to £7.50 a month, so i'll have to pay half of that : £3.75.

All ok unless you need to talk to someone - their Indian call centre is an awful place to try and have a conversation to clear up a problem.
Not for me,but just a heads up for anyone signing up for Talk Talk broadband..If you have a problem register with their online community forums, will get any problems sorted better than their Indian offshore support

I just left Talktalk because they dropped my broadband speeds down from 12mb to 6.9mb for no reason at all, its as if talktalk have capped the download speeds = bye bye talktalk and hello EE.

EE= Orange/Tmobile, I went through topcashback and got £121 cashback, paid upfront for the phone line for the year £131, £2.50 a month for the unlimited broadband because I have a pay as you go tmobile sim, = after cashback = £40 for the year.

So that's a no takers deal then! :p.
i think the talktalk line rental deal isnt as such a deal anyone can do that for £114 up front as I have had paperwork via the post about it as a customer. I just didnt want to sign up to another 18mth/24month with them

They dont like admitting it and its way down in the small print, but if they change their price mid term in your contract, you have the right to cancel without charge. You do only have a limited period to do this (about 10 days from notice). Its called "the right to cancel". even Sky have this :-)

They wrote to me giving me the option to cancel landline and broadband contract within 30 days due to impending price increase. A lot better than T Mobile / Orange Mobile Contracts which I've been caught out with and made to pay the increase. Talk Talk very fair.

We have to increase our prices to be able to upgrade our services. But you can cancel your contract without charge within 30 days of getting this email.

You needed to have got it up again just by asking. They have stupid system in place that judges your usage and puts you on slowmo if you don't use it enough.
Call talk talk to renew, the offer is 24 months contract, half price for first six months, no thanks, now I'm a happy customer with other companny.
Just signed up to them again. Been with them 3 times in my life now. Moving to take offers here and there...

I can't say much bad about them and getting 18meg speed in a 100yr house with them this time round and no dropouts!

So they have to arouse you? Didn't do a good job when I rang up just now to get a MAC - they just said "you're an LLU customer, no MAC needed". And then just OK thanks, bye.

EE coming soon - £105 TCB, £14.75 line rental but £132 paid upfront for a year, and anytime calls including 1000 minutes mobile and 30 countries for £5/m for 6 months then £12/m. (£5 off normal prices as I have a T-mobile PAYG SIM in my name)

All in this works out at £10.75 a month for a line and the BB estimated at 16Mbps. Which incidentally is also £129 like this deal for 12 months. And if it's no good and they can't improve it, I can cancel in the first 3 months.
OP I take it you start a new contract immediately?
I paid upfront line rental last year + £3.25 for Broadband & Eve/Wkend calls package.

The email I got states that I would continue to get any applicable discount so I'll just be paying £3.75 instead of £3.25 for the remainder of contract.

Not a huge increase but I might just call anyway Can't see any other competitor that comes anywhere near this package.
I use the £5 international 500 mins which is better than other providers who restrict to just international landlines. TalkTalk includes international mobiles.

What are TalkTalk like for paying a refund if cancelling when you've paid up front for the year?

thats exactly what I was thinking, as I would go with EE with their great cashback offer if i can get my upfront linerental payment reimbursed

Thanks OP, called up to cancel mine as they sent me a price increase email. They offered me £2 off a month (which offsets the price increase) which I would have taken but the guy then says that fibre is only £5 a month. I already have fibre but I mentioned that I was paying £10 a month for this to which he said he would put on a £5 a month discount - result!

Yes, I 'signed' a new 18 month contract. Will only be paying

£9.50 line rental
£3.75 broadband
£10 fibre

- £2 a month discount
- £5 a month discount

= £16.25 a month for line, evening calls, caller display and fibre

Yes EE with cashback would be cheaper but switching providers every year is doing my head in
I wouldn't go back to this shower if they paid me £129 !
Awful awful company - steer well clear of these cowboays even if they are a few quid cheaper.
