basically the same offer as when they had 12 month contracts at £1.75, notice they have also raised their contracts from 12 to 18 now, along with their new price hikes from 1st dec.

also be aware, there are unconfirmed reports that talktalk have leaked peoples data, it was in the guardian , theres countless people on forum talking about this, but so far talktalk refuse to confirm this, and say if your affected report it.

I've renewed with talk talk 3 years in a row, my broadband speed is 45% of what it was, never again.

i got similar deal with topcashback and EE. but topcashback did not track

Topcashback hasn't paid me out for EE which has been over 4 months

im with talktalk, reported a fault 8 days ago, ( i wasnt reciving incoming calls), i havnt had broadband or phone since.

When I had problems with TalkTalk I went on Twitter to complain about them and they came back to me straight away and sorted the problem out

TT gets a lot of slack here, but I find their broadband/phone and customer support is excellent. TalkTalk Mobile is a whole different ballgame though (but Vodafone are mostly to blame for that!)

bizarre lower rate of £90 for new line installations. you would have thought tthey'd offer higher rate to suck in completely new customers i.e from vm

paying off line rental in advance only measly 10% so £15ish whereas £11 with ee + £130 quidco and 12m contract

Looks like the forums are theonly places to get any resolution. I was on the phone (they called me back on my mobile, to keep my landline clear) for about 70 minutes while they did "tests" to come to the same conclusion I did - i'm getting about 6.7meg in an area I should be (and used to be) getting 17meg. They offered to send around an Engineer at a cost of £65 if they find something wrong with my equipment or wiring (and i'm sure their non-independent engineer will claim my landline wiring is dodgy to pocket £65 and save Talk Talk from having to up my speed).

There was no reasoning with the asian call centre representative who reads from a script. Over 2 years ago I was with them, getting 17 meg. I was due to leave them when my great deal ran out and they persuaded me to stay with their current best deal. Overnight my internet connection dropped to 13 meg. Noticeable but not a huge impact. Fast forward a year, go to leave again, get their best deal again and overlight i'm on a 7 meg connection (very noticeable). I said that the timing of my drops (sudden and large, no dribbling down to a slower speed) coincided with a contract renewal and my house is just 10 years old, with no work done on the BT socket ever - it is definitely them throttling speed. She was having none of it "we wouldn't do that sir".

I'm posting on their forum tonight - so many of these companies only seem to listen after a public pasting via their facebook page or forums.

It would seem that they're paring down everyones connection speed on the sly and see if they notice, with more and more cutdowns as their TV subscription (for which they need more bandwidth) gains subscribers.

I'm not getting what I signed up for.

Are EE any good for speed though? If so it sounds like a canny deal. My line rental is paid in advance to Aug 15, I'm guessing this is tying me in with TT as i'm assuming they won't migrate my paid up line rental even though BT ultimately gets most of it.

I wish I was back with TT.

Changed to EE at the time of the £120 amazon voucher, which hasn't arrived yet, and it ain't great.

Most online games became a mess.

Don't quite understand it though. There are no lost packets and the connection and ping are good. Yet I can't run 10 steps in BF3 without lag and rubber banding.

Yeah if you want something fix do it through the TT forums. They are very good.

Expired, the topcashback offers are far less now .
