Do not buy, can't survive in this country, My mum bought these 2 years ago and they barely lasted over a month.

https://laidbackgardener.blog/tag/coconut-palm-as-a-houseplant/ it's very true, it really doesn't survive in the UK. But it lasts as long as a bunch of flowers and is a bit different.
How long until you get coconuts?

This is a site about saving people money, I'm just trying to impart some advice of the 3 my mum had bought. she gave one to me and while mine lasted the longest there were problems early on. luckily i got my mum all the money back using "resolver" its not worth it when the plant already cannot survive our climate you are fighting a losing battle before you start forgetting to water it or over watering it.

Looks great but I kill every plant I try inside
Can anyone recommend a good fern of similar height? (Assuming they would be a better option for an indoor plant with some structure?) Had one about 15 years ago but can't recall the type now.

I get what your saying,Better advice would be to say go and check the requirements of the plant you are intending to buy first, this plant requires a certain temperature and humidity that most either won't know about or won't be able to offer it, but the same goes for lots of plants, they aren't all just capable of withstanding our climate and our abuse.
Got a pair from Homebase for around £8 each 2 years ago. It's something different and always gets people intrigued but as others stated they can't survive the good old British weather.

Bought one in Morrison's for £3.50 4 months ago.
They look nice, but avoid, they don’t last long.
Very very difficult planes to keep here.
Got one for a tenner from Homebase in the Summer. It did well throughout the Summer and Autumn in a warm, sunny spot, but as soon as Winter hit and the temperature dropped it went brown a died a death.

Don't recommend buying them as a long term houseplant.
A Kentia Palm, although more expensive, will last a lot longer. Usually sold in IKEA for about £30. Reasonable price for a Coconut Palm.

Agreed. Got one from morrisons in September and barely survived 1 month. Waste if money.
Also where is the 22.99 coming from? they were never that price... misleading.
Mine died within 2months! Should have known
May need to modify it genetically to survive UK winter

....or just stick a thick woolly cardigan on it
Picked one up in June. It made it until December. It had a good innings but once the nutrients from the coconut are used up it needs to survive on its own with as much as sunlight as possible in a good constant high temperature.
Nasty palm oil is talking over the world. It's growing in our houses now!
If your looking for a “lovely bunch” of coconuts do not buy these. Plant Cruelty as they can not live in UK even indoors. Morrison’s are sentencing this poor plants to death 😔
