Great for those with a time machine. As of now it's £299.99 on Amazon and this deal is the cheapest by some way per Camerapricebuster so very hot for me.

Just checked and camelcamelcamel shows an all-time cheapest price of £291.38, last October.

Just checked on the phone with Tamron and PC World/Currys purchases are eligible apparently so possibly £199.97 after CB.

If they'd had a Canon fit I would have had to buy! Under £200 you can't go wrong from what I've read about this lens.

A tad poo that they don't have the same deal for the canon fit

Looks like they might be replacing this lens with this beast:

tamron.eu/uk/…tml

so there may be other deals on the 18-270.

Makes a change for Nikon lens to be cheaper

Can anyone confirm is currys/pc world is an official stockist. Cash back is only from official stockist outlets. I can't see currys listed.

I've been thinking about buying this as a 'zoo trip' lens. Perfect. Thanks, OP

I called them and the answer was kind of 'shouldn't be a problem'. A bonus if it happens for me as I am happy at the PC World price.

Thanks Op. A nice lens indeed

The lens is not anymore. The link is taking to the common lens

I need this lens!!! Where is it? Link not working :-s

I've had this lens for about six months now with my d3200. Replaced the 15-55 Nikon and Sigma 70-300mm with it and I've been very happy with the results. Sharp images across the full range, and the piezoelectric motor is nice and quiet. Quick autofocus too. Great everyday use lens, and ideal for travel.

Nice lens (Canon version for me) - the only lens I have ever needed on my 550D

yeah got to agree, cant see the lens listed, please update the link

I've owned this lens, the Nikon 18-200mm VR and the Sigma 18-200 OS and this lens is by far the worst lens of the three. The auto focus is actually painfully flow in my opinion. And at full focal length (between 200-270mm) it's extremely blurry even in manual, which defeats the purpose of owning a super zoom all in one lens like this. See the same conclusions from the following reviews.

It's up to you on this one but you're much better off buying a Nikon 18-200 VR or the Canon equivalent from ebay for the same price.

Interesting. I used to have a Nikon set up with the 300mm prime & one of these tamron-18-270mm lenses as a walk around. My mate had the Nikon 18-200 & when we tried the two lenses (Nikon 18-200 & the tamron-18-270mm) both handheld & on a tripod they were similar apart from the 'long Tamron zoom' was better on full zoom (as you would expect). Of course the 300mm prime ate it up & spat it out but different lenses for different uses.

cant see it

Personally I'd rather get the Canon 18-135mm STM for around £200-220 on ebay if you look around. Auto focus is super quick on my 650D and it's totally silent so great for video.

EDIT: Of course this comment only applies to anyone considering the Canon version if that is available at this price

what youd rather have isn't really relevant here, half the reach of the posted one!
at least the 18-200s are somewhat comparable
chap in photo thread seems to use nikon 18-200 alot (from my flickr spying) - seems pretty handy
