Anybody sat on the fence over this lens, BUY IT!!!

Find anybody that doesn’t like it that owns it
Tbf a £600 f2.8 zoom doesn’t really need to be amateur application, tamron are meant to be really good again I believe. HOT

This is full frame, yeah?
This is a crazy price for this lens. It has amazing reviews and is comparable with Sony's g master for less than 1/3 of the price
This lens almost switched me to full frame when I was looking. It costs more to get a comparable lens on Sony APSC which is crazy. Great deal.
Silly stuff. Can't get a F2.8 around this zoom range anywhere near this price. Was considering buying for my Nikon (with adapter) until I noticed it was almost same zoom range as the Nikon 24-70 F4 I have.
Same price at Wex if anyone prefers.

Use code TAMRON-10 on checkout for the same price.
I had the 24-70gm and sold it when I got hold of this lens. It’s that good!!!

I don't have either, I only do wildlife. But I always thought the Tamron would be my first lens under 400. Amazing design.

The 10% promotion also applies on their wide zoom.

I use the sel100400gm for wildlife. My dad has the sel200600g. Both are great
Bookeh is a bit busy on this one, but for sure this is a great value lens.
I own this lens... An absolute show stopper. Some of the best photographs I've ever taken have been on this. Good price too.

Something I have wondered about is how long before software created bokeh is just as good, if not better, than the 'real thing'?

FE lens is compatible with APSC, only extends focal lenght

Personally I love Swirly bookeh and hope they going to develop possibility to change the bookeh style in Mirrorless cameras too, as they did in the mobile phones.

It's the only thing going against the lens. I guess some people like that Trioplan look. I figure you could spend time in lightroom applying a localised brush reducing clarity in OOF areas if you really wanted.

(Careful though, some of the picture are with the 17-28)

Yes but this lens on an APS-C is not a useful walk around distance unfortunately, the equiv focal range is not wide enough.

this is a great lens btw..
Damn! Still paying it over 6 months from Amazon. Bought my whole kits A7 iii and the tamron a few weeks before going into lockdown. Haven’t been able to use it apart from photographing the dog! She’s definitely not as into it.... stay safe everyone!
Great lens, only annoying thing is that 28mm can be limiting. Just got rid and got the 24-105 to use with my primes instead.
I have this lens, it's as good as it gets at this price. I do miss 24mm at the wide end, but apart from that it's a great lens.
imcconvey03/05/2020 17:54

Crying.

If you get that upset when someone calls out one of your stupid comments think a bit more before posting them in future.

It's cheaper on efinity.

No. focal lengths are the same. Apsc sensor just crops the projection.

Which changes effective focal lenght (compared to full frame). Effectve FL is used to compare lenses.

Just times 1.5 on the length (mm) for apsc so 28mm on full frame is 42mm on apsc

No.
28mm is always 28mm. Crop sensor just crops into the photo. Doesn't change focal lenght.
Got mine, not happy clearly a used item. Lens cap & hood mucky, rear element covered in finger prints
