Does this have VR? Considering upgrading my Nikon 18-55mm to this, is it a worthwhile upgrade?

No VR at this price another £100 if you want to pay the extra

Shouldn't really need vr at this focal range

Seems like a bargain. Gets great reviews and £350 at Amazon. I'd buy it if I didn't have the Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 (which cost me about £275)
Edit - looks like this is the non-VR version. Hence the cheaper price.

Considering this is the non-VR version, is it really that much quicker than the kit 18-55mm Nikon lens which does feature VR? I only ask as presumably with VR you can go several stops lower at low light than typical, making the speed aspect of the two lenses very similar?

The Sigma with vr for 50 pounds more its a better deal.

I'm thinking of upgrading my 18-55, tempted by this, but think I'll go for the Nikon 18-140 VR. It's a bit heavier but the extra reach would be useful, and it gets good reviews. Last time I liked this could be had for about £200-£225 for a grey import.
