Last one from "UK warehouse" got hit with DHL import fees.

As usual these come with a tiny lead and I've found that these work great with them and also power down with the TV

Did you not get an inbox from them? I only noticed mine yesterday, they've said it was a screw up and will refund the fees either as credit or back to your PayPal account

I'm not familiar with the chip on that for a comparison, but in terms of "to use for kodi" yes, it's ideal for running kodi.

Got one of these last time around, remember at the time someone mentioning the remote being useless, is there any decent apps that will let me control it using my iphone instead?

I also got the refund due to the shipping error, so gearbest are back in the OK books for the time being.

You'll have to check on a desktop their mobile site is a joke and wouldn't let me check. They've just basically said they've made a mistake and let them know how you want the £4.57 refunded! I told them PayPal and send them the DHL reference I was given when paid.

I love these KODI boxes, they're great Media players but please don't buy anything with less that 2gb of RAM, I tried a couple of different 1gb ones which I now can't bear to use as compared to the 3gb they're in a lower league... the Andoid & KODI menus are just soooo slow...

Invest a bit more money and go for something with at least 2gb of RAM (preferably more), KODI alone uses 1gb ram so you're onto a hiding pretty much from the off....

i bought one of these before its decent but i found that sometimes my 1080p content on my plex would even lag whats a good box in the sub £40 price range? This box is OK the remote is terrible so i've started using a wireless keyboard if anyone is buying one of these i'd buy a keyboard too because browsing some menus is difficult and typing is a nightmare

How about Skype on this box?

Can you tell a difference between a box with 2GB and 3GB?

Beware, this decodes 1080p/4k but can only renders it as 720p stretched to fill screen at 1080/4k from what i've read.

Libreelec is available but wifi wont work

Which one to buy? This or alfawise s95? Both are around same price?

Can this play back from an external hard drive ntfs?

I noticed in the Q&As that they state:
"If any taxes are incurred, they are charged by the destination country and not by Gearbest. Taxes are beyond Gearbest's control and are charged according to local customs policies and regulations."

dont use DHL, they want you to pay the import fees, they make money from it. pick free.

mecool m8ss pro L

are you no longer recommending the mecool m8s pro plus?

Shipped already with an RM tracking number and expected 2-3 day delivery. Looks like this really is shipped from the UK warehouse. Thanks OP.

The new SOC S905W is meant to be a budget chipset and therefore removes 4K @ 60 FPS capability.

he said £40, so get the pro L. (£40-50)
pro plus is £30.

Mine was supposed be UK warehouse but shipped from Outside UK via DHL, still struggling to get import duty, vat etc back off them. Hopefully by 4th Nov will be able to ask Paypal to do a chargeback, wouldn't deal with Gearbest again they are a total pain in the backside to deal with!

It's showing as £30 to me as postage was around £8

I’m getting a charge of £8.93 for shipping , I can’t get it to be free. Am I doing something wrong ?

Ok I’ve figured out the shipping thing, you have to use PayPal and use your PayPal account to pay then the shipping can be set to zero when you check out on gearbests site.

Thanks all went though ok but I picked the eu3 warehouse which I hope was the uk one? Price came to £21.39

Glad there's an Android box discussion. Any advice would be good.

I have just bought one of these:

.gearbest.com/tv-…=21

For those looking to pay around £40 I thought that it was a good deal at just under £43 (I still have the code if someone wants it). It has 3Gb RAM, 32Gb of storage, dual wireless, a fast CPU and bluetooth (useful for headphones and/or controller I was thinking). I thought it was pretty good specs wise.

I am open to buy another box for another room. Is this £21 box good enough?

Still waiting on mine to be delivered should get this week will report on proformace

If you're getting this for Kodi you're mental if you're not using LibreElec and that will run perfectly fine with 1GB ram even for 4k HDR stuff.

Being fair, hard wired in, this is running 1080 stuff just fine. Might look in to LibreElec but currently no need with performance.

I received mine today, delivered by Yodel. It comes with UK plug converter.
Nice little box. So far so good.

Wi-Fi does not work with Libreelec so these are a bit poor in that regard. I wonder if xannytech rom works on this...

Got my box within 3 days. Bit bulky with the uk mains adapter,The box seems nippy with kodi. The remote is terrible but i use the sony remote with cec enabled. Seems to have a newer firmware than what is listed on tanix website?. My box also came with kodi 17.4
Edited by: "HINEMUSIC" 1st Nov

Received mine yesterday, seems good so far - seriously easy set up compared to our last one. Came with 17.3 though instead of 17.4

Hi Alice I sent you a email thanks

Ordered. My old M8 has been playing up recently when connecting to internet. Time to designate that box as the experimental box.

Am I missing something or should it power up when plugged into power?
