using the term "system" is a bit mis-leading (not you op, the website). this is a speaker set and you will still need an amplifier to make it work.

that aside, they seem to be rated highly on av-based forums and its a good price.

Agreed. I've edited to avoid any misunderstanding.

site doesn't appear to specify colour, can someone please confirm these are black. We already have these in silver and the sound is fantastic. We paid at least double this for ours. So hot from me!

Seems a great price tbh

Very hot considering Richer Sounds are selling this for £229.95 & thats only a 5.1 so a speaker less.

Its a shame these arent in black!!

Just ordered a set, after looking around I couldnt get anywhere near the same quality for that price!

I have a set of these, for Home Cinema they are nothing short of fantastic. The quoted specs on the web-page are misleading as the frequency response does not include the sub. I think the full range response is 20Hz-78kHz. All those top end kHz really make a difference, this is the wideband technology used only on really good Hi-Fi speakers.

For listening to MP3s or CD just don't expect them to compete with a good pair of bookshelf speakers.

The sub-woofer has L and R inputs and this can power the speakers so an AV amp is not required, but if you do want to listen to the full on DTS/5.1 experience then you will need an AV amplifier.
