Product information

The perfect match for Mercury 7 speakers, the Tannoy Mercury 7C centre speaker completes a first-rate home cinema system.

The perfect match
The perfect match for Tannoy Mercury 7 speakers, this Tannoy centre speaker lets you match both the looks and sound signature right the way around your surround sound speaker set-up.

Neutral sound suits other speaker brands, too
With a neutral sound and easy load characteristics, the Mercury 7C also works well with a wide range of other speaker systems. The soft dome tweeter and cone woofer offer the ideal acoustics to match many other similar speakers.

Dynamic sound
Featuring a Nitro-urethane damped tweeter, the Mercury 7C hits frequencies as high as 32,000Hz Although this is well above what we can hear it does mean that the high frequencies we can hear are less affected by harmonic distortion – making it the ideal match for Hi-Res music sources.

Clear dialogue
Featuring twin 5 inch cones, the Mercury 7C provides smooth, natural dialogue. The twin cone layout gives a broad spread of sound, meaning you can have your left and right speakers further apart.

Smart good looks
With a choice of Black Oak, Walnut or Oak vinyl wraps, there’s a wide choice of colours to suit your home. To protect the drive units from accidental damage, a removable grille is fitted as standard.

Hear every word, with the Tannoy Mercury 7C.

I love it; nice find @busterdan
Shame it's only 60 watts
Superb find. Tannoy are very good speakers.
Come on, who uses only one Centre speaker in 2018!
My neighbour is totally deaf, HELLO!, and she has 3 centre speakers.
The Big Issue salesman near my local Tesco has 2 and there’s a busker down by Waitrose who has 4 and they are all 100W Marshalls.
Mind you, being a Waitrose authorised busker, he plays a Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt Strat so it’s no surprise he has a 20 piece surround sound set-up.
I’m waiting for Dolby Atmos 0.12.0 which is basically all Centre speakers.
The only thing I need more of than Centre speakers is more Cow Bell.

So, not a fan then?
are these actually any good ? I have a old pair of tannoy mercury F2 custom and they aren't bad for 15 pounds I paid for them 2 years ago.

I have it in black, and yeah, very good centre for my living room.

Actually 0.12.0 is 12 subwoofers
SO this is instore only?

Why?[Image]

Most speakers are designed to be used with the dust covers removed.

Is that a parameter of audio fidelity that I haven't heard of?

What hifi isn't a fan of the range..
”The new Mercury 7 range is likely to have been designed at a similar time to the Award-winning Eclipse 3, but the contrast in performance between them is night and day.

Their review of the floor standing speakers is quite unfavourable.

Out of curiosity what speakers do you have either side of this, thinking about getting one just want to make sure it will match the rest of the system
