Lowest price I've seen these, £79.99 plus £10 off with voucher.

These tick all the boxes:

  • Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling
  • 3 ANC Modes
  • Supports aptX HD Audio Coding
  • cVc 8.0 Noise Cancelling Mic
  • Dual 40mm Driver
  • 30hrs Music Playback
  • 5min Charge for 2hrs Playback
  • Soft Memory Foam Ear Pads, Foldable & Rotatable Earcups

I recently tried the SoundSurge 85 and 90 models from Taotronics. Both were very good for the money, but neither were quite right for me.

These claim to be Taotronics top end model that uses a Sony chip in it's ANC, which is probably bad news for me, but good news for those that don't get chronic jawache from ANC!

I haven't tested these yet, they're arriving today, but lets see if they meet the hype.

I dont own this specific model, i have the BH22 and its brilliant. Extremely comfortable, good sound quality.
Tested these today:

Pros

- Supports aptX Low latency, indicated by Bluetoooth Tweaker
- Build quality is very high compared with most Chinese headphones
- Evidently uses Sony Noise Cancelling as it very quickly gave me vertigo in travel mode
- Comfort is amazing if you have a bigger head and big ears
- Supported multipoint without any issues

Cons

- Too bass heavy. Tested with Only Love Can Break Your Heart by Saint Etienne in FLAC, bass was waaay too overpowering
- Not as much play in the adjustment compared with the TT 85 or 90's
- Constant amber light in NR mode (albeit at the back)
- Microphone position is not suited to be used for commuting, it will unquestionably pick up too much background noise

Overall these headphones are an absolute steal at this price. I paid about £170 at the time for the Sony WH-1000XM3 and these are not far off in terms of quality.

The test is always best over a prolonged period. I thought the 85's were the bees knees until they started giving me jawache today. So let's see tomorrow, but overall, incredibly impressed so far.

I have the BH22 and need to use sonarworks with them as they have a very scooped frequency response.

I have these and they are great. I agree the bass is heavy but I simply reduced the bass with my equalizer and now the sound is perfect. You won't find a better set of headphones for this price.

I agree mate. Frequency response is improved since their earlier models but still a little scooped like rev6 says. They aren't going to blow you away as studio cans but the feature set, build quality and price makes them the best all rounders at this price point.

I've also just bought the Avantree Aria for testing - amazon.co.uk/Ava…MKX

These are £50 more than the Taotronics and are possibly the best headphones I've reviewed yet, bt in terms of build quality, they lag behind. Very flimsy.

Interestingly, I can't seem to pull an aptX HD stream from the 55's. Codec 3, which is usually the HD codec, is not showing as HD. Codec 4 shows as LL. I have a second pair arriving today so I'll see if its a fault or whether they simply present the stream in a proprietory format.
Another comment on these - they multipoint nicely, but also are capable of connecting over bluetooth to an iphone and wired to a PC. Fantastic!

Not so much joy today connecting wired and wirelessly at the same time. Still great headphones for the money.
How do these compare to something like a Lindy BNX60 please?

price seems to have gone up £5.
I haven't tried the lindy.

The tt55 were very good at the price, very comfortable for prolonged use for me.

Sound is not outstanding but good, but requires a bit of tweaking on the equaliser as they are bass heavy.

Avantree Aria are still my number 1, just about
these amazon.co.uk/Ava…3Z/ ?

I got them quite a bit cheaper without the stand but they're sold out

The 55's from Taotronics will be enough for most people. I mean they don't sound like hd-25sp's, but they're very good for that price bracket. And if you don't like, you can always send back to Amazon like I always do
