Indeed - thats why I say in the first line itself that its most likely a price match of Currys
Does anyone know if this is better than a vivy/vivy2

I love my Tassimo, I like the massive selection of different drinks available.
I had a Dolce Gusto too but it got donated to the workplace kitchen, I found the drinks selection not as wide and the machine was ‘slightly’ more awkward to clean.

Thx. +1 for Tassimo so far
But for dolce gusto the advantage is that you can buy compatibles as opposed to Tassimo where only their capsules work.
Had a Doice Gusto and I think that’s in the loft now, had a Tassimo and gave that away and now on a Nespresso Virtuo and it is better by far. There’s no point buying a cheap machine if the coffee it produces is rubbish.

At the risk of sounding boring I have both, a DG (Mini Me) and 2 Tassimo machines. The JOY, and T40 FIDELIA

The DG (Mini Me)?
Versatile, in that it is SEMI automatic. You have a SLIDE control on the front that you set, in relation to the same markings ON THE PODS, then have to use the FLAGPOLE (Hot or Cold) switch to start the process. The UPside is that you can "deliver" water to anything... normal tea, coffee dry food pots etc, and the downside? it's known to not be as hot a drinks machine as some...the tassimo for example....enter Microwave fer a few seconds

The Tassimo?
Fully automatic...it has a barcode reader, BUT will only produce drinks, with few, very few (if any) options fer compatible pods, and no way to deliver JUST hot water (remember the DG will deliver both hot & cold) UNLESS you purchase the special water disc...pop out the SPOUT (a 5 second job) and insert the disc (as you would a pod.

This disc has a set of barcodes on it, it will deliver 150,250,350 or 450 ml volumes with the ability to STOP the flow at ANY time, by simply hitting the button, but please note that the WATER disc is MACHINE SPECIFIC, so if you go for it, be sure you get the disc for the machine in question. Disc price is around £5.

I hope this helps you make up your mind.

No, it wasn’t boring. Thanks for the detailed info. We’ve got a Dolce gusto. Was wondering if it’s makes any sense to swap, but because of the disc bit I think I give it a miss
Thanks again.
Take care

Ah, yer welcome
You are more likely to find compatible pods for the DG, and you can always pop a DG drink in the micro to finish it off if the lower temperature is an issue 4U, then you have the versatility aspect of the DG, so WIN WIN.
ENJOY, I do
Tassimo solution to hot water, take out the yellow cleaning disk, put in top, voila.

Also acrew paying for the hard water blocks, just run some water with lemon juice in.
