The vouchers aren’t worth it, you have to spend over £35 on the tassimo website for the £10 off, I’ve found it’s better buying the pods 3for10 in some stores
Just bought a Nespresso virtuo and although there coffee is more expensive and you have to order it it’s by far the best coffee I’ve had from a machine. Good offers at the moment, starting at £79, mine came with £50 worth of free coffee plus what’s in the box plus £25 Vouchers if you subscribe which you can cancel after a month should you wish so virtually pays for itself
Good price but of the 3 (!) coffee machine brands we've tried over the past couple of years Tassimo was the most disappointing. We finally settled on Lavazza which is a bit unfortunate since their pods are quite expensive.
Do you get 2 x £10 Tassimo coffee credit when you buy this machine?

This or Dolce Gusto?

For taste/flavour
For pod price
For machine quality

I've had Tassimo about 3 years ago but never tried the Dolce Gusto.

Ye, not this. If you want a good variety of milky, flavoured drinks, this is the one. If you want decent tasting coffee, anything but this

Depends what you want. Are you more of a latte, hot chocolate, flavoured coffee drinker? This one.

Like a good cup of coffee? Get a Nespresso.

I do prefer a latte, macchiato, hot chocolate (experimenting with different flavours of those too) ... however, every now and again I love a good old fashioned regular cup of coffee.

Does it taste like costa latte? I have lavazza but too strong for me. Mainly use for froth, milkshakes and hot chocolate but if this does taste like costa I might buy. Thnks

Hot chocolate for me, coffee for the Mrs. I've tried Dolce gusto, not sure how the hot chocolate on this one is?

I partially agree with you, I posted the same comment several time. However, after following advise from those who use it, it seems you can spend only £25 and the voucher and you get delivery too. So, at the end it will cost you about £2.50 per box. Not great IMO, but still ok. I've just got mine delivered yesterday, paid £16.40 for 6 using the voucher.

Have both:
Taste - probably the same but more variety Tassimo.
Pod price - without a doubt DG are cheaper. You can get 3rd party DG, also some short date, quite often £1-2 per box. Tassimo very expensive, no 3rd party, best deal probably 3 for £10. Big let down from Tassimo here.
Machine quality- Tassimo seems better built/smarter, but more difficult to clean. Also, you can't have cold drinks while with the DG you can. Moreover, with DG (depending on model) you can set from the start how much water you want, while Tassimo is automatic, so you can't adjust unless you sit next to it and press to stop when you have sufficient water, or press again to start and stop if you want more water. Also, takes longer to do a cup.

100% DG for me, the only advantage with Tassimo is the coffee is hot, while the DG is warm (may be my machine, others suggested no issues) and the pods variety. Tassimo pods price is ridiculous IMO.

Out 9f the 2, for me is DG, see my reply to eFeezy. Tassimo pods are too expensive. Next time I will try Nespresso.

Wow thank you for the in-depth review. I take on-board your advice and appreciate the response. Is it best for me to pick up a DG machine then? I know a lot of people seem to recommend the Mini-Me? Would this be your choice too.

Also cold drinks would be great during this nice weather so probably best i do go for the DG .. and if it's easier to clean that makes it all the more better too - Tassimo was a headache to clean from what i remember a few years ago!

This! The Vertuo may be more upfront but the deal is better overall and the coffee is vastly superior. Plus the coffee comes in recyclable aluminium capsules rather than the plastic waste these produce.

Dolce gusto all day. I have both. Tassimo hardly gets used. Cant buy compatible pods.

dolce gusto, better options, compatible pods.
I have a coffee machine that takes pods, but after realizing the environmental impact, I feel bad using it... I wish I did not buy it.
Also, these machines are like colour printers of coffee world, I suspect they sell it at a loss.
Great machines these, and pods aren’t too expensive when bought from Tassimo. Normally can get £30 worth for £20 and free delivery with codes!

I've got the Mini Me. Or a similar one that looks the same, got mine years ago. Don't go with Oblo, you will not have the option to set the water level, you'll have to sit next to it to stop it.
I'm ok with my DG, I alternate both of my machines depending what pods I find at best prices. However, I don't think you can compare any of the 2 with proper coffee. These are good for convenience and to keep the place tidy.
I believe they both worth £30, but in long term Tassimo may be a rip off. Check on DG official site, they used to have it with some pods included and it was a better deal than Tassimo.

I bought one of these recently and can't understand why there are no 3rd party pods available? Why is that? I was so disappointed when I tried to find some.

Maybe copyright, maybe not easy to make, as they are 'smart', they have a code bar and the machine knows when to stop, do not know. I was disappointed too, when I had DG everything I could see was the wide Tassimo variety and not much DG variety, but never realised there are no 3rd party, I found it only after I've got my Tassimo...

Do you get 2 x £10 Tassimo coffee credit when you buy this machine?

Ah yes, the 2 x £10 vouchers. I remember the GOOD ol days, when yer got a single £20 voucher.

BTW, I re registered my machines (with Tassimo) the year B4 last (I have 2 machines) and Tassimo sent me 2 x £10 fer each of em, SO 1 Tassimo machine cost me £30 (via HUKD) a few years ago now, and I've had £40 in vouchers back...from Tassimo

Tassimo machines eh, NOT as versatile as other machines, the Dolce Gusto Mini Me fer example
BUT the Tassimo does produce a hotter drink, compared to the DG Mini Me. I have the Mini Me in mind because I have one of them as well.
The vouchers aren't worth it. Time you pay the postage it's far cheaper to buy for Tesco's.
Nespresso produces far superior Coffee Taste.
Then DG is better then Tassimo.
I only kept the Nespresso machine in use... DG is somewhere in the loft and the Tassimo I gave it to the charity shop.
For Capuchino, Mocha, etc... the Nescafé sachets are very good. Good variety and just wait for the 2x£3 so each drink is less than £0.20

Yes, try. Some people suggested that even if you add pods worth just over £20, the delivery charge will kick in (as under £25), so will make the total over £25, add the code after that and the delivery fee will waive and the discount will kick in. I think somebody managed to pay about £15 for 6 or 7 boxes.

Neither to be honest, nespresso above these any day
Got one of these from Amazon last week for same price.

Impressed so far. Asda have a promotion on the pods at the moment but they're cheaper in Poundstretcher if you have one near you. Most packs are around £3.50 which doesnt seem to be too expensive.

Lots of choice there too from Macchiato to Cappuccino to Oreo.

Good deal if you're not too fussed about the basic coffee taste and just like the more sugary drinks.
