Depends on how big the Sainsburys you went to was, and what sort of neighborhood its located in.
The big 24-hour Sainsburys on Cromwell Road SW7 in London should have the full range.

Is this an eat in the resteraunt deal or a carry out meal?

It mentions delivery by the 3rd March on the image provided above making me think it has to be ordered.

I just couldn't find it on the sainsburys website, any more info would be greatfully received.

Sainsburys at the Dome roundabout, Watford, did not know anything about this, and this is not a small store.

I went to Sainsbury in Redditch to try their "meal for £5" deal. The first three members of staff knew nothing of it, then we found one who said they were in three separate locations and mostly unmarked We picked out three with her help only to find that the check out did not recognise the deal and recorded the items at full price.

If this is their idea of a marketing exercise, it is an absolute disaster.

Had a look at this at Sainsbury's Hedge End (Southampton) today.

Mains dishes are reasonable, but the green vegetables are measly portions, certainly not enough for two of us.

All the 'meal deal' puddings had been sold. The shelf tickets said that you only get the offer with specially marked 'meal deal' packs ( which is perhaps where billhum (previous post) slilpped up).

So, because there were no marked packs of puddings, the whole thing fell through. Typical Sainsbury's, I'm afraid - no puddings left by midday, so the deal was no good to anyone!

I also checked the prices. Without this deal, the cost of the separate packs was just about £1 more.

Sorry folks, although the OP posted in good faith, regrettably this is by no means a "good deal".

Not so, read the normal individual selling prices for each above, if you buy the 3 most expensive selections, you will save up to £3.00

Perhaps I should have said: "The cost of the separate packs that we wanted was just about £1 more."

Seperate cost of the 3 cheapest packs in this deal is still £7.00 - £2.00 more!

Fish pie, mash & chips sounds .....wierd. lol Is Sainsburys food any good? If it tastes like Tescos meal deal food then £5 will be a rip off. :?

This will be my first time :roll:hope its good or they will be getting it back:)

Eventually got to Gateshead Sainsburys. Chaos in Sainsburys as the posts above point out. I did get the meal deal for 2 for £5 but only with persistence. The 2 choc deserts did not have the meal deal sticker on them & were located elsewhere from the Meal Deal isle advert. Only fish pies until I pestered a staff member who got me a steak pie from elsewhere. Only the mashed potatoe was in the right place. Never mind, saved £2.70 on the 3 items & purchased some other offers but I won't be migrating my shopping to Sainsburys.

Our Sainsbury's knows nothing about this offer - but then I am not surprised, the staff are their usual unhelpful selves. No wonder I've given up shopping there.
