Can't understand why they don't stagger school holidays

£168 + visa £20 to go to a country that is in an official state of emergency following a failed coup hmmmm I suppose if your kids are really bad it is worth a go
The Summer school holidays should fall when we have summer. The UK does not have a summer in August anymore. This is our rainy season. Lol. Its usually warmer in April/May/June. WE need to change with the climate change.

They are sightly different between various education authorities - and I think Scotland and Northern Ireland are slightly more different. But there is a limit to how much they could be staggered - who wants their summer holiday to start or end in the middle of August?

Just because you remember a warm spring followed by a wet summer, doesn't mean the seasons have changed. Look at some climate records. They're still the same.

I know several people who have been over the past two years and had a fabulous time without experiencing one single issue. One other thing, they paid peanuts and had a lovely holiday.

Good for them?
this place is rubbish i was there 2 years ago but the price is heat. Kusadasi is not like Antalya. if its your first time to going to Turkey your can try big cities.
April is too cold in Turkey for water parks. We went in May and still a bit cold to swim.

Why is it rubbish though, because it's not a major city and is quiet or because it's a horrible hotel?

Not my advice it is the gov.uk website ADVICE!! feel free to educate yourself as to the terror related incidents and rabies caution that is also given, by both the U.K and Turkish governments. I will take those FACTS rather than the 3rd party you may know. gov.uk/for…ism and have muted you so don't bother yourself replying, treat it as a rhetorical comment

Yes I think I'll stay at home and take the family somewhere much safer. London perhaps. Oh wait a minute how many terrorist events and tourist deaths have there been in the capital in recent years. Not to mention the almost daily stabbings.

I think on balance I'll take my chances and go to Turkey after all!!

we can say both but the hotel was terrible (one time i use the water park because i know it)... i had a summer house there the city is: i can say retired peoples population. Age average is over 50. The best part of the city is Ephesus. You can visit but my idea newer plan a long holiday.
Went to turkey last year and it was an amazing holiday, hotel was spotless , staff were amazing couldn’t do enough to help you and allways smiling.
I think theres more chance of isis carrying out an attack in a european citythan in turkey.
Lot of the trouble in turkey is aimed at the goverment not the tourists.
Will be going back this year.

Turkey is perfectly safe for Brits - provided you don't start blogging stuff against the Govt

Nothing like as dangerous a destination as Dubai or others
we had a family holiday in side turkey in October and loved it, the staff where very helpful and loved the private beach , didn't see any trouble at all and was very impressed with security at the airport bags were checked 3 times including complete removal of all content and repacked all backs that where being carried on the plain , ive never seen that before. One note there were only 1 other English family in our hotel 90% german some French and Spanish just might have been our hotel, didn't bother us tho.
