Agave syrup is much higher in fructose than plain sugar, it has a higher potential for causing adverse health effects, such as increased belly fat and fatty liver disease. avoid.

Great product to use in moderation
Defo has more Gluco-Fructose. Please be careful. Natural doesn't always mean good!. Even Oreos and fries are vegan, doesn't mean they're good either!
Regardless of the health concerns, the product is best taste of all.

Nooooooo. I thought fructose was good (as far as sugars go).... I mean it's from fruit? Why is all this stuff so hard?
Why would this be, "a substitute to honey for vegan shoppers", when honey is just a substitute for granulated sugar which is derived from cane and beets? Both of these products are arguable vegan as, although bone char is used in the whitening process for the cane, none ends up in the finished product.
wtf is honey non-vegan ? you learn something new everyday lol

Fructose doesn't mean increased belly fat. That is just through abuse of fructose

Agave is like a smoothie. The fructose is mixed with water and fibre within the fruit so it takes longer to eat the fruit changing your perception of how full you are. Syrups and smoothies can be consumed pretty quickly!

Would golden caster sugar be the best alternative for health, and for vegans referring to another posters comments about the use of bone char to bleach white sugars.
bbcgoodfood.com/how…ave

It's sweeter than table sugar, so you use less.
Basically it has benefits, but you need to think about its use a little.
Pros and cons.

Yup... It's not from plants... It's from bees...

Beet sugar doesn't use bone char and is vegan. I think Tate and Lyle regular sugar is vegan anyway as it's from beets.

Another great one is avocados, I’m sure a lot of vegans eat them by the bucket load, but they are not vegan! Ask the bees

And the saturated fat is crazyon as avocados.
I’ll just bypass the agave syrup and go for the tequila. No sugar, less calories and happy me...hic8)
Of course avocados are vegan!

Well they are right in one respect, fructose itself doesn't do that, otherwise fruits and vegetables would cause it. High levels of fructose does. Agave syrup is just a natural version of high fructose corn syrup, which is implicated in a lot of negative health outcomes
