Taylormade M2 irons.
5 to PW.

Clubs are designed to be forgiving and for a mid to high handicap looking to lowering their score.

Seems like a good price for brand new M2 irons. Cant even get second hand ones at GolfBidder for this price.

Great irons at an excellent price from a well known golf seller (PGA Golf Pro shop). Probably even better value is the 7 club set (5 iron -SW) at £399.99 , I'm sorely tempted .
Even better when one of the faces cave in, which will undoubtedly happen, TM will replace them with a set of M4 irons
If I am 6ft 3inches should I get the +1/2 length version?

Probably worth going to American Golf and trying the M4s (new version of the M2). Getting them to custom fit and size up.

Wasn't aware of a problem. Quick read it's due to the face slots and some defects. M4 still has the face slots though?

They are more than double. I'm going to American Golf on Monday to try the M4, see what shafts etc they recommend. If they are any good I'll just buy the m2 version from TonyValentine.
Test them out at a local pro shop then buy off this retailer if happy

I would say so , but it really depends on the height of your wrist from the ground. Generally further in taller folk (but not always) . Don't know if Taylormade have a fitting chart , if they don't use the Ping fitting chart available on line (google Ping fitting chart) , measure from the crease at the bottom of your wrist to the ground then use your height and the wrist measurement on the chart to determine shaft length (+ or - ) and lie (flatter or steeper ). 99% certain you'll need the Half inch longer , steeper (Up ) lie option .

If you're near the M4 corridor (Swindon - Bath ) it would be best to visit one of their stores for a free fitting and trial - a bit too far for me . Also they do part exchange which is handy as I don't really need a third set of irons .

I wouldn’t go to American Golf for fitting - my friend used to be employed at one of their stores, where he was encouraged to “fit” golfers with whatever stock needed shifting that particular month. There are plenty of places to get fitted for clubs who have qualified, professional staff in place.

These clubs are a great price btw. Heat added.
Would these be good for a first set of irons? As beginner as they come?

I think these are more for intermediates and game improvers. As in you could achieve a 12 over par handicap without the need to upgrade.

GolfOnline had some Cleveland irons for half the price recently. Might be a better started set.
