An excellent Christmas tipple! Taylor's 2012 late bottle vintage port. Currently £10 a bottle at Sainsbury's but if you buy 6 bottles or more you get 25% discount which equates to £7.50 a bottle. Bargain!

You'd have to really like Port to justify buying 6 bottles though! Otherwise, a £45 spend to save £2.50 a bottle doesnt really add up.

Maybe this stuff is far superior ?
but surely the Dows at £5.06 a bottle is much better value ?

For the 25% off you can mix and match 6 bottles of wine, port, champagne etc, or just really like port and stock up.

Ahhhhh, that makes sense now. Thanks, might nip along later.

Taylors select reserve £7 a bottle at min in Co Op, Picked 2 up last week

Taylor's is a great brand for port. Select reserve is at the bottom end of their offerings. Taylor's First Estate Reserve is a better offering at a good price point. Taylor's Port

Had a 2012 Calem LBV while I was in Porto recently and it was even better than the expensive 2011 vintage stuff!

Isn't port something you buy for Christmas, drink 2 glasses then throw it away when you find it going brown in the cupboard next Christmas? That's how it works in our house anyway. Had a 'port hangover' once - never again!

Hmmm....... yes I guess it wouldn't taste very nice if it had been open for a year. Yes, port hangovers do occur when drinking from the bottom end of the spectrum. You shouldn't suffer that on this one though.

So the deal is actually £45 for 6 bottles?

25% off 6 bottles already posted many times before, Ive been told

I brought the 6 bottles of Dows for approx £5 a bottle and think it great.. Really enjoying it.. Have some heat for the deal but Imo think the Dows is a better deal out the two. Heat for both though and each to your own.

Yep, Dow is a great label too! Just beware of that port hangover, that Besford mentioned earlier, on some of the lower end ports. I've been there.

This is only £7 bottle in store at Co-op. I have bought a few and its been on offer for weeks? so £10 is just overpriced surely?
