I paid £350 for mine off Amazon. It was so bad I sent it back. Even at £350 I couldn't live with the backlight issues

No brand new sold Amazon. Everytime the screen went dark u could see the backlight reducing down. Then when picture went to normal scene the backlight would kick back in but it was very noticeable and annoying. It was as if the back light went down to ten then the screen brightens and it slowly rises back to 100
Don't forget code TENOFF - every little helps available until midnight tomoz

That's a shame, did you get an exchange or just a refund, I have been really impressed with all the TCL mid to high end panel's, just wish they would hurry up with the 2019 EU sales launch of all the top end ones, that are have the price of the other 3 brands for the same thing!!

Was going to exchange but I read people had same issues and had not figured out a way around it. There was a dynamic contrast dimming setting which you would think would have turned this off but made no difference. Picture in 4k was cracking. I kept TV for two weeks but you know what it's like when something bugs you,you just can't unsee it

Had it set at 60/100. If I was playing a PS4 game and the loading screen was dark I could see the backlight reducing down to almost nothing. Then when game started the backlight would slowly rise to where I originally set it. This took around 5 seconds to reach original brightness. I spoke to bloke in TV shop,he said TV was using a micro dim to make blacks appear darker. He said it's something I should be able to turn off like on Samsung's. There was an option but nothing changed. He said probably just poor software in the TV.

Yeah the software in some of the TCL range is really poor there a load of threads on it on the tv forums seems to be with the bigger models!

You need a Plasma dude!
I got my 103 incher for £500 originally cost £64,000 - did have to spend a coupla hundred fixing it but well worth it!
Ever played World Of Tanks or Star Wars Battlefront II or watched the footie on a 100 incher , you will never go back to tiny 65 inch tellies lol

There were a couple of them last week on ebay one went for £450 and Panasonics as well none of yer cheap LG or Toshers!#
Only downside is the 1450 watt power consumption but I have solar panels and a wind turbine so nae probs for me!
