I'm after a new TV currently and saw this has popped up on Amazon. I imagine other sites will start listing these too but I've now decided to put my TV purchase on hold for a few weeks to see how these TV's shake up the market.

There are no reviews yet as it's not been released!

Fabulous TV's but unless they sort the prices out for UK buyers, even the specifications and high level panels in these will stop them from being as popular as they are in the states...

UK - 55" £599
US - 55" $399!

Will be looking at the 60 / 65" P range VS the Samsung's / LG's of similar spec personally, just hope the european distributors can sort the prices out to be more competitive with Hisense, or else they will end up with a lot of unsold stock!

The only issue with the euro TCL models, will be the really low nits ratings on all 4 sets, which a lot of buyers will compare to the 200% brighter hisense panels for same money!
It's a Chinese brand, the next Hisense perhaps?

The TV looks a nice design, but £399 for a 43" isn't a mind blowing price for a new brand trying to conquer.

I know people will reply with it's HDR10 etc., but at this size that shouldn't be too critical.

I will say again though, it looks very nice, quite premium.

The 50" one at £499 looks ok, says 10bit panel and HDR10, these TCL tv's have good reviews for gaming, so I will be keeping an eye on these

Last year's were rated pretty highly in the US on a price to performance basis. A little basic in some areas like motion handling (they had no interpolation system at all) and sound quality, but good for the money.

/edit/ Incidentally, Amazon's prices seem on the high side. Alza have the 43" model listed for £310.90.

UK only now at ease with Hisense brand.

Might take a while for this new brand

TCL hardly an eye-catching name
Interesting concept. Would like a new TV for the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X so will keep an eye on these. Thanks for the info.

Great price for the 43", pity the 50 or 55" is not on there yet though

Spot on and amazingly Hisense are doing a lot better in the UK than they first envisioned!

Think it helps that TCL have a massive client base built from owning blackberry & alcatel, so they will no doubt market to all those potential buyers in the UK first, subject to GDPR of course!!!

The name is a bit naff, but guess the founder "Li Dong" knew what he was doing

Stands for "Telephone Communication Limited" if anyone was remotely interested!

They look pretty smart. If they are half decent I might go for one. Will see how it unfolds.

Euro2016 was great for Hisense in terms of brand name exposure.

Good luck to TCL..UK needs some high quality yet but lowish price options
And it needs a more central stand. Don't like the wide apart legs on any TV
shouldn't mind one of these beauties

Too pricey for TCL compared to all other markets.

Looks nice but Samsung missed a trick not protecting their QLED moniker - unless they share tech or something?

Edit, it seems Samsung, Hisense and TCL have formed the ‘QLED Alliance’, no doubt in an attempt to challenge LG.

Stunning bit of tech, Oliver the TCL european manager went down a storm at IFA when the Xess 2 range was introduced!

Well reviewed in its Roku running variant across the pondThe Verge: TCL P-SERIES ROKU TV REVIEW: THE BEST BUDGET 4K TV YOU CAN GET

These are the new 2018 panel / OS ones ((well made in 2017 to be launched in 2018!)) and all run Android Nougat TV OS, much better and can install loads more on them, the panels and bezels are all teeny in depth/width compared to the roku OS ones, so will definitely be a good buy if cheaper than Amazon's loony intro prices!!
Wow not 1 mention of vestel amazingly
I’d be tempted, agreed it’s overpeiced compared to US but been looking at TCL for a couple and years and read it has local dimming with the 55” has 96 zones and The 63” having 120 which still makes this a lot cheaper than the competition
Looks good but I'm hoping for lower prices
This is interesting news OP, thanks for posting. I remember looking at brands like TCL and Vizio when checking 4K TVs a while ago, it was crazy how well priced some of those sets are in the U.S with the feature sets they can have.

Like others have mentioned hopefully this shakes up the market a bit. Prices of TVs over summer and into autumn's eventual Black Friday should be interesting this year.
Have been an owner of a TCL for the past year and a half although a basic model that was posted on HUKD here hotukdeals.com/dea…779
I remember reading they were the biggest tv company in the world at the time because of there domination in asia. Can't fault mine, but was really the price point that got me so this will have to drop to get others to bite!
P.s I thought it stood for 'The Creative Life'

Their site says "The Creative Life"
Check this out for tcl tv’s
Wait for Black Friday deals
I use rtings a lot when considering 4k tv (yet to bite as need new gpu too) but tcl is bedt budget hdr gaming tv so very interested in this. As above... Vizio mentioned too a lot.

Finally! Thanks for the info OP! 😁

Where are you getting the info they run Android from?

I think I remember seeing a interview with someone from TCL Europe on YouTube recently. If I recall correctly he said the US models are Roku, Europe Android, UK will be a basic Linux OS with Freeview Play.
I've been looking at this for the last week. A large part of it was thinking there was Roku as the OS. Still looks nice with the dimming zones etc. Lack of brightness butcoin5 mentioned worries me though.

I hope not. I'd much prefer it if it was a Chinese brand.
I’m interested for the bedroom but no mention of vesa most and picture don’t show mounting holes
Let's see how these are in 5 years time. Untested, untried, new company, think I#ll hold off until we know a bit more

Unheard of in Europe but has been a household name in their homeland for at least a decade. In terms of quality probably same as hisense, alternative budget brand, should position themselves as a value for money, solid quality in comparison to the big boys

There is hardly any American brand for TV, even in their native homeland.
