Yes actually (Tesco's are much better!). What's own brand about Kingston?

Must say, I was wondering that too!

He actually said "value" branded not "own" branded, I guess implying puzzlingly that Kingston are cheap.

Personally I did not know that TDK sold Flash Memory until I saw this post .

Business competition, there are a lot of OEM Flash Cards that are stamped with company names, an example of one SD card I own is a Toshiba manufactured SD card with a "Viking" sticker over the top of it, it was sold cheaper under the "Viking" brand than it would have been under the Toshiba moniker.

Well yes, considering you can get a class 4 based 4GB SD card delivered cheaper elsewhere then people are within good reason not to agree with you to be fair.

But then some people are brand concious, hence where would Sony and others be these days

There is a difference between being brand conscious when it comes to function, snap open an SD card within the same classes shell, and all you have is a NAND chip and a controller chip, there are only a limited amount of manufacturers.

Then take Sony, they actually have the Bravia Licensed engine in their TVs, Cybershot licensing in their cameras, and DSEE engine in their MP3 players.

There is being brand conscious when it comes to differences, then there is being brand name fashion conscious, such as buying an Armani watch, which is actually manufactured by Fossil and then having a hiked up price.

Unless TDK have some really special forces under their belts, a class 4 card is a class 4 card...what you going to do, eject it from your device and go "hey look here I have a TDK"

Further to this, Kingston is the ]second largest supplier of flash memory in the world seeing they do OEM, chances are that it stands a good chance that TDK utilise their manufacturing and then stamp their name on top, as whilst ]TDK manufacture Electric components, and data storage media, they do not manufacture and supply flash memory.
