TDK audio cassettes - OldSkool @ poundland

82
Found 8th Dec 2012
I was in Poundland yesterday and was amazed to see they are selling TDK audio cassettes and Kodak film. So if you're oldskool (like me and many others like me) you could do worse than to have a looksee.

Yes they do.
I swear DJs were paid to talk over tunes to stop me taping off the radio. Ah, good days.
Those were the days, how I miss them!
I still have a tape deck and a record deck......

No need to swear, that is exactly why they did it!
breaking the tabs after recording something worth while keeping and then putting selotape back over a week later

Still have my sony double tape deck, the wife still use it, there is stuff on some tapes you can't get any place else .

Theres nothing decent in the top 40 any more, probably since the decline of the C90
This is amazing. Just need something to play them.

Our car still has one - the other half refuses to update it as he loves his old mix tapes >
Great! Time for some hi-speed tape to tape dubbing!

X)...still got my Sony MZ-E10 today before everyone started bringing out mp3 players. iPod never existed then.
hi speed dubbing - now know by it's modern name as dubstep
People still use them? o_O
There's something to be liked about the cassette - I wouldn't have listened to half the songs I know if it weren't for a format I couldn't readily zip to the next track.
No, instead you would begrudgingly listen to a song you didn't know/like to get to the next song. Eventually, you'd grow to love it.

This is something the 'skip' generation will never understand or feel.

Excellent, going to buy 10,000 of these so I can copy Call Of Duty : Black Ops 2 for ZX Spectrum from my mate.
Are these VHS or Betamax?
Are these still being manufactured, or have these been found in a disused warehouse. Still got a player in the family runaround!
With this and the VHS cassette deal I'm guessing an audio/video specialist on the Isle of Wight has shut down recently and Poundland have purchased their cutting edge stock?
Remember those days all to well having your favourite tape chewed up in the cassette player then using your finger to rewind the tape into the cassette, happy to see tapes replaced by cd !
Surely everyone knows 8 track stereo cartridges are the way to go.
Not many places sell these anymore
how many for a quid ??
You always used to see brown tape hanging from overhead telephone wires in the streets, I used to buy my tapes in bulk from ads in the exchange and mart!
