Yeah it is. I wonder what the different is between a "Tea" and a "Chai Tea" is? Maybe its like a double shot of espresso?

you boil milk in a pan and add the tea leaves to it as opposed to the English way of making tea.

Optionally, you can also add spices - Cinnamon/Cardamom and/or Nutmeg.

Adding the leaves in the pan does not make it a Chai, you need the sweetness and the spices.
The easiest way to make it is to boil milk (or condensed milk with water if you like it sweet) with black tea leaves.
Add some star anise and ginger and leave for a couple of minutes. Pour and sprinkle on some masala chai spices.
This is the one I buy from my local Indian corner shop:

Like FreyaWhite above, the ideal way to make Chai is with Tea Masala and cooking in the pan.

If however you are lazy and need a quick chai tea:

Add tea bag to cup with a little sugar, 1/3 ts of tea masala, a sprinkle of cinnamon powder, a squeeze of honey, a splash of milk. Mix around so it looks like a paste, then add your hot water and brew for 4-5 mins.

That's your perfect cuppa right there!
