I'm constantly getting sick and tired of people voting cold with no explanation whatsoever for their action.

Looks a competent, accomplished piece of hardware with plenty of connections.

Thanks for posting sillycib.

I know what you mean; I don't vote hot or cold if I don't know why I would vote. If I do know I will post why I think it is either

You sound a bit like Robert Mugabe there.

Its called democracy.

The heat eventually works its way out if its a good deal.

Thanks Sale, I've updated the post.

Good price mate, is this the 'champagne' finish?

No idea, didn't know there was a champagne finish..
I bought the black one after price matching with Richer Sounds a few months back (still £300), it ends -B, this ends -S so I assume it's standard silver.

The manual is here
teac.co.uk/man…pdf

Its silver. Good spot, been looking for a small hi-fi for a while now.

Good old Robert Mugabe, he has been in power for 29 years! If Margaret Thatcher, Tony Blair, John Major went on to 29 years they would too needed brutality to beat up the voters and dissenting voices who voted cold!

According to that manual (page 7), it does not play SA-CD (Super Audio CD)

It may be a basic question, but how do you know of the cold votes without any explanation. All I see is the temperature rating.

These are good little systems. One good point with it is that you can record the DAB radio etc, on to the memory stick which is very handy.

Voted hot for this money.

Can anyone recommend a nice set of speakers for this unit sub £100 ??? This looks like a nice stereo, I have PURE DAB DMX60 still new in the box unopened, it could be going on ebay to get this baby if I can come up with a sweet speaker package

Very nice little system. I'm very tempted but don't actually need it.

Just in your price range (I haven't looked for better deals) but the Q Acoustics 1010i are supposed to be great...

These Mordaunt Short 902i' s are great, £110 at Peter Tyson.
Don't know anything about the store though but might be able to pricematch against Richer Sounds who have them for £150.

petertyson.co.uk/ebu…tml

good solid looking system, i like the look!

will it accept the optical sound signal from PS3/360?

You can pick up a decent DivX DVD player for no more than £50, some with USB too. So unless you're desperate for DAB radio to be included in one box, why spend an extra £150?
I'm obviously missing something here, hope someone could fill me in

I find this quite funny as i'm mainly a lurker.

I never vote - cant be ars*d and if i posted a deal i couldnt care either way how its rated. If its good enough i'll buy the product if not - move on. No love lost. :whistling:

Yeah you are, it has built in amplifier so you can power speakers directly from the unit. Basically it's perfect to go with your flatscreen in a bedroom as its all in one - lovely bit of kit!

Regardless of DVD, isn't this quite a nice sound system anyway? (add speakers, of course)

Just tried ordering, voucher wont work for me????

I would have thought that a digital connection would be better if the PS3 has one.....

I vote cold if I'm in a bad mood. Or if my footie team lost at the weekend. What other reasons would you have for voting?

Thnx for the info. Problem is the speakers I have are Gigaworks T20, which are self-powered (as in has it's own mains lead.) OK I guess having a built-in amp would give a bit better sound quality but basically the advantage is just being able to let all your audio (freeview, DVD, console, etc) be routed through this one device??

I'm not well up on this kinda kit, but I was hoping to justify the point of having one

You sound like the kinda person that is happy to take advantage of sites like this but is not happy to contribute at all - nice.

Luckily not everyone is like you and some people DO care how their deals are rated as they may not post up another deal again. Where would the forum be then? You'd have to go and lurk somewhere else.

People take time out to post up deals and even if I don't take advantage of one, I'll happily spend 30 seconds commenting either way. You should try it sometime.

What sold it to me was the quality of sound and the media options.
I used to copy my divx to usb and play it, but now I just connect the laptop to the Teac and s-video to the TV, call me lazy.
listening to films through this system basically changed the whole film watching experience for me.
It is not a suitable AV amp if you have to connect loads of stuff to it though because inputs are limited.

Teac have this on their site showing 5 stars from What hi-fi, Stuff and T3

teac.co.uk/200…htm

(Have to click on the DR-H300 DAB link)

The only review I could find was the Stuff one, the others were probably magazine only.

stuff.tv/Rev…AB/

As for the optical question, it only has an optical output.

I've got this in black and I don't think you can.

The baby brother 250 (or is it 255) does though, which is very frustrating

Seems like this could only be useful to a very limited market.

Essentially it's a upscaling DVD (which most people have bought for less than £50) with a built in amp (which most people into movies have on their AV Tuner). Also a dab radio in case there is nothing on MTV.

The only value I could see is if it provided outstanding audio quality, which is almost impossible to tell without listening to it. :?:?

Hey GreenGem

Uh why limited? You could say ANYTHING on this site is limited if you personally don't need/want it at any particular time (CF various offers on Lightsabres, Microwave cookers, ABBA CDs..:) )

Doesn't make it a bad deal.

And it happens to be exactly what I've been looking for to reduce my old separates system to something a little tidier now I'm all Ituned up!

Great offer THANKS!

I deliberately never said it was a bad deal since it no doubt it has some use to someone who doesn't already have the individual items, like yourself. Albeit the individual items may also be able to be purchased for around £200.

I just thought it was particularly bad value for the majority who already had upscaling DVD's and/or surround sound systems.

.....and Abba CD's also make great coffee coasters :p:p

You assume that everybody has only one TV or room that needs an entertainment system. Hardly the case these days. This small all-in-one is perfect for powering a second (or third) system in the day room / conservatory / kids bedroom / wherever. Or for throwing out the "Oh-so-80s" racks of Hi-Fi gear for something more discreet.
