Never heard of this company... Trustworthy?

WezleySmith

I only think I can go as high as z270 unfortunately, but thankyou for the advice! Looking for the same kind of thing but with one that is compatible with the i7 7700k Thanks anyway!

FellowPazzini

I have the Z370 Gaming 5 version and think it's a great board. The Gigabyte software that you install on Windows can automatically overclock your CPU & RAM which works a treat (it does for me anyway). I have a i7-8700k 3.7ghz CPU and the software gets it to 4.9 or 5.0ghz without me having to manually do it and the RAM up about only 200mhz if I remember correctly. Not sure if would be much difference with regards to the slightly different models though, maybe a little research is required.

hottestthebetter

look for a 2nd hand high end asus board if you dont have cash

WezleySmith

I really need a decent overclocking motherboard for my i77700k as I don't really have enough money to upgrade my cpu at the moment. Does anyone have any ideas? Can be second hand as well I just want overclocking support and a 16x for my graphics card

questiontime102

Haha fair point (y)

questiontime102

This motherboard is for 9th gen Intel not the 10th gen you have listed. Anyway for gaming can't go wrong with either Intel or AMD. If your planning to stream and play or do productivity go AMD.

Order was cancelled. Apparently they didn't have any stock. People who didn't buy glad you didn't have to waste your time :)

MoobearHD

Got a feeling this'll be cancelled as the ccl one has been

MoobearHD

It didn't seem to eliminate any tearing for me either, so with how expensive the cards are atm I thought I'd try amd to see how it goes :) I've got about 125 in my pocket after the swap for a pretty similar performing card, so should be happy either way

Damienzz

Grrr saw this last night, checked reviews and held off. May as well wait for the next gen of cards at this point (lol) (upgrading from nothing, my 1080ti blew up and I haven't got round to replacing it yet)

MadeInBeats

gingepeedle

The deal is for 16GB of RAM...

MadeInBeats

True dat.. Anyone with a DDR3 system is doing fine! I've got an i5 4670K and I've never even needed to overclock it! However, the lure of building a new system is just too irresistible for a lot of people looking for a retail therapy dopamine hit. The GPU thing is mostly down to miners, but only two manufacturers on the scene doesn't help; I hope Intel enter GPUs. I was looking at getting a RX 570. I looked at a year old DF review and even back then they were saying they should really cost £120'ish new... that was 12 months ago and they're selling about £150 USED right now.!! I'll look at undervolting my little R9 270X and seeing if there's any room to OC it a little (I've never bothered previously) before I pay ransome money for a GPU.

TacticalTimbo

Tbh, I don’t understand why everyone doesn’t just stick their middle fingers up, and stay put?! The prices are outrageous by historical standards, and it’s not like current hardware in most peoples cases isn’t ample. I know, I know everyone and their mother is gaming at 8K, while streaming in 4, with the genome of the red squirrel sequencing on the side...but seriously, if you’ve got anything haswell or newer you’re probably golden, heck 2500Ks still kick ass!
