Excellent price...HOT!
Wow.
Good price if your on a budget. Not a great energy rating though, it costs more than double to run compared to a samsung 40". Nevertheless good price.
think I'll have one me them, 40" for the price me a 32
Price comes up as £168 not £163,,,maybe the price has increase and deal should be expired?
Interesting article here..even mentions this tv itself.

Anything particularly good about this telly?
Equally, anything particularly bad?

It's a 40" 1080P TV with Freeview and a built in USB/Media Player for £170.95
If you don't expect it to compare to a £500+ TV then it should suit you fine.

Ohhh noooo! Five pounds!
how funny that i cannot find it on the normal search. had to buy through link. thanks though! bought!
I bought this tv nearly a year ago for 300 and have found it second to none for a budget tv.
I've seen no real difference in electricity usage even though we bought a blu ray surround at the same time and before we were only running a 32inch 10year old crt.
can you really moan for that price?

you can find it on the normal search,it is the one that is priced up at £268..click on it and the product page shows £168.
Ordered, many thanks OP. Just moved in with the GF and her 32" crt drives me mad.... She didn't want us to spend to much, so this is the perfect compromise
Does anyone know how to get free delivery with this?

Please help
Sorry, am I missing something here...

In total it's £175.95 delivered...

No codes work...

it still won't help with your english tho..
code TDX-KJPW gives you £10 off
This is a fantastic deal, would have bought if it had had USB record. Currently got a cheapo 37" Techwood, no digital tuner and 1 HDMI, so always look at these deals. Ideally want a smart TV with 3D, but in no rush

I would have done this, but from a previous error on their part, they have honoured a £15 discount on a previously cancelled order, so I am going to just buy it for the price stated on the website and then after an hour, they've asked me to call them, upon which they will refund me £15, meaning we get the telly delivered for £160.95!

Even at the right price, it is a steal, but for £160.95 for a 40inch branded LCD TV I can't complain!

Hope you all manage to get at least £10 off too!

Enjoy!

... and super heat OP!

it was £278 a week ago when i left my store before holiday so very very good price !! sell these all day every day in Llanelli Tesco extra about 10 a day and very rarely come back to be changed !!

Thanks OP, just ordered.
We bought the 32" one and the sound is like that of a cheap 1960's transistor radio - awful, so we had to spend more money on a sound system to make it bearable.
Complained to Tescos Direct nearly 3 weeks ago and still awaiting a response.
This one may be fine, but LISTEN to it first!
be prepared to take it back every week for a replacement as they are very poorly made and the picture quality is very very poor dont waste your money save up instead

i was in 2 minds but reviews are very good
i had a 19 inch and a 32 inch bought at same time ive took them both back about 5 times and a week after warranty ran out the freeview stoped working in 32 inch and soon after dvd stopped working in 19 inch, the picture quality is poor compared to sony and panasonic
Cheers op! Bought one and use the £10 off voucher.
Ideal for the bedroom.

I don't get this? People winging about sound quality ect. The screen panels are made by Samsung and the quality is on par with their own tv's in my experience. The software is exactly the same and im not being funny but every tv I have ever heard sounds "tinny" if you want surround sound, dtf, pro logic ect no tv around will suffice. Buy a 1080p tv for the picture quality and stop cryin'. (proud owner of a 22inch technika and a 32 inch Samsung, both fantastic picture wise)
Oh and yeah... I voted hot ;-)
its nothing to do with the 1080p its the contrast ratio it is quite low in these tvs and the viewing angle is quite poor, i have 2 technika, a sony and a panasonic the picture quality is excellent in sony and pana but technika is average at best and the technika tvs are alot darker and not as smooth around edges on items plus the blacks are not very good, i worked with a tv repair company for a few years and know what ime talking about

Unless you are comparing sony/panasonic tv's that cost the same as this your argument is flawed. Of course you would buy a sony instead of a technika if they were the same price - but they are not. Therefore you expect them not to be the same, yet in my experience (three Technika TV's) none have developed faults and all are perfectly watchable, and money still in my pocket. I have never worked for a TV repair company but still now what I am talking about.
Surely people can't be complaining for £175.95 delivered?

Where can you get a 40" HD TV for remotely close to that?

Ok, it's no Sony/Panny/Samsung, but in it's field, this HAS to be the best deal out there for this size TV?
thanks, ordered for the kids bedroom, then they can play there games on,
ok it may not be the best, but for that price, i'm sure the kids will love it.
It's a 40 inch telly for them, they'll be so chuffed on christmas day.
Got mine for £165.95
