Just out of interest, does anyone know which company makes Technika?
id say going by the fact its only stocked at tesco, it'd be tesco...unless ur being sarcas....oh!!
The tech police are on their way, looks a bargain to me.
I don't think Tesco would make a telly some how flipper, they pay other people to do the dirty work :-)
Tesco sell Technika goods. They certainly don't make them.

There will be an OEM somewhere in the Far East pumping these out with several different badges.

Cheers
Simon
A quick google found.... Technika is a brand of electronic products made by UMC, a Slovakian company for Tesco Supermarkets.

from uk.ask.com
But for £399 who gives a flying duck. Have some heat, if you only have £400 to spend it would be hard to get more for your money I think.

I watched abit of lion king 3d on this the other day and it was dreadful. Loads of ghosting and terrible picture quality. Spend a couple hundred more and get one of the cheap 1st gen samsungs or panasonics.
Spent some time looking at one of these packages a few weeks back when they were £499.

Store demo was only showing an animated 3D Blu Ray, so can't comment on the standard TV picture, but to our eyes the 3D was excellent and as it's passive 3D you can get the glases for a pound. I guess that is why they can bundle 8 pairs with it.

When you think that you can't get a 3D Blu Ray Player for much under £100, this makes the TV a cracking price

Same here. I don't think it was set up right in store. Saw plenty being bought though.

Hot!!
what a deal hot from me
Any official reviews of this set online at all?
Ordered thx also got 5% quidico on this which should be 20 pounds and 400 clubcard points
3d quality is dreadful, cheap for a reason
A 42" lcd + blu ray player is a hot deak for those who are brand snobs (which sadly I am), the fact its 3d is a bonus. Be warned though if this is going to be your living room tv, and you have house hold members who play games (time we shook off the gaming is for kids sterotype finally) have consoles in their rooms they might start wanting to use this as many games have a 3d option on them now.....you could end up losing the living room tv again.

Hot deal
I saw the demo @ Tesco - it looks good enough for me!

If we didn't spend £600 on a 50" plasma on boxing day last year, I would of snapped this up ... £399, 8 glasses and a 3D Bluray player. Thats very very good.
Just tried this telly. 3D effect is pretty poor, screen seemed quite grainy? Good deal for what you get, but in this instance I will let my brand snobbery rule Hot.
i seen this same deal yesterday in my local tesco for 499.99
This is a fantastic price can not fault it
I saw this in Tesco a couple of weeks ago for £499 - still is. I can't remember what they were showing as a demo but it seemed quite good. However, I suspect that you get different results depending on what film you pop in so would therefore assume they played a specific demo so as to make it look as good as it can be.

£399 is still a good price and with limited budgets something that will sell. Me? I can't justify paying £400 for what I consider to be a small screen. I have a 52" Samsung in the living room (plus 2 x 37" and 2 x 32" elsewhere in the house!) and so whilst I like to p*ss my money away like the next person, I've always said to the missus that all the time our main Samsung is going strong I'm not going to shell out for a new one. Had the Samsung for 4 years now and it's still going strong. oO

I'm also a bit of a brand snob but that isn't too important. I'm also highly confused with the various differing types of 3D technology i.e., why have to shell out £50 plus for active glasses when you can buy a different type of TV/DVD(?) and buy passive for £1? So until I have the time and patience to sit down and figure out the differences I'll bide my time and see prices fall even further because let's face it - you can buy a Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Sony etc. 32" LCD/Plasma for less than £250 nowadays which is crazy.

BUT I do have my eye on getting a 3D HD projector first so another reason why I'm holding fire. Either way, I'm thinking ahead by buying some of the kids Xmas pressies in 3D mode!

Still hot though!

I'll have to find some reviews, but I imagine the 3D is on this is Crosstalk hell with extra artifacts.
I tried one of these in store as there are not many reviews about and it was good.

There are loads of brand snobs who say that its no good but you have to spend quite a bit to get a better picture and most people are not audio or videophiles.

For the price its an excellent deal so hot from me!! Its really well connected too built in freeview, 4 HDMI connections, headphone socket, pc connection etc

direct.tesco.com/q/R…spx

Worth a punt imho.
I bought this, thought it was awesome until i hooked up to sky 3d and watched some football! Massive motion blur almost gives you a headache! Imo Fantastic tv for animation/slow moving 3d but any fast moving shows/sports with bright colours bit of a no go . I took it back and bought the Passive 3d lgamazon.co.uk/LG-…JP2 ,massive improvement and well worth the extra spend.
I bought a Hitachi 42" LCD back at the beginning of 2010 for £339 and back then there was a loads of "wouldn't touch it buy sony/samsung" comments. I've never regretted it for the price and in my opinion the picture still knocks spots off the Toshiba and Sony I already had. I'd be tempted to put this in the same bracket and you are getting a fair bit for the money. Hot for me.

I doubt a lead from poundland would be V1.4 as required for 3D tv's

Might be worth those thinking of buying this TV to read the following thread,

avforums.com/for…tml

I'm also looking for a passive 3d TV and have decided to wait for the sales in the hope i can pick up a LG.
Technika also make alot of the Tesco Value branded electronics.
lol tesco value 3d tv.

but anyway, my friends had a Technika 32" for couple years now and not had any problems with it at all

I thought V1.4 was a scam? Don't all HDMI Leads have the ability to show 3d?
