Anyone got any decent active voucher codes?

gajenpun

£20 off over 250 spend code: TDX-HD9V n possibly topcashback too

only tablets

those other codes dont work with this product.

Using TDX-FT6J for £10 off first order and going through TCB (if it goes through) i managed to bag it for just under £280 delivered with £3s worth of clubcard points thrown in for good measure.

whats the usb playback like ? filetypes.... ?

from what ive read on here in previous threads on Technika\UMCs is they have quite decent file support.

Even so for the stuff it cant play il just use my tablet to TV-out it.

Shame no PVR mentioned as with some of the UMCs. Would have been a nice little bonus, though for this price im not gonna grumble.

Any idea who makes this panel?

why are technika so cheap compared to like sony? is it build quality?

Almost 50inch for £300 is a steal! I bought mine 43inch for £400 and that's not even full HD although it is a big brand tv

totally agree I've saw the picture at our big tesco

Technika are tesco"s own brand so the build quality is not up there with the likes of Sony . My nephew bought a 3D one just over a year ago and just after the years warranty had run out the 3D stopped working. Bad luck or poor build quality. You decide.

Probably 'bad luck'. I thought a lot of the Sony tv's are made in Turkey by someone else anyway,so not going to be the quality products they used to be.

do i buy this tv lol! i wanted a niice big screen and this is a bargain! im not entirely fussy about all the extras eg smart tv and that hence i think this would be good any body know why i shudnt buy!?

For a 47 inch tv this is a good deal but make sure you keep your receipt or proof of purchase if something goes wrong with it.

Great Deal! I'd get one if only it wasn't missing 3d

Just ordered through Quidco (2%) + TDX-FT6J £10 off + paid by Tesco credit card got totals 373 club card points!

Checked the display TVs at Milton Keynes store, they looked almost as good as LG but better than samsung and sony.

I bought the 32 inch Technika and was surprised by the quality. If you want to watch TV with good picture and sound quality this is the TV for you

Remember code TDX-FT6J Only if you are a new customer or give them a different a non tesco registered email address and register as a new customer.

One word of caution. I suspect you're going to need an external HiDef source to get the most from this TV, (e.g. Sky+ HD, Freeview+ HD, Freesat+ HD, Youview HD, etc).

This TV only has a standard definition Freeview Tuner. In my experience, standard def Freeview pictures are fine for smaller screens, but they can look a bit "blocky"on larger screens like this. The main channels BBC1, 2 etc will be better than the minor channels as they broadcast at a higher bitrate, (i.e. there is more information to build the picture, so the TV doesn't have to guess as much). With an external HD box the TV no longer has to guess how to build the picture on HD Channels, (and if it is an upscaling box the standard def channels should look better too!)

Heat Added for those with a HiDef Source.

1080p is a thing of the past

Ultra HD is where it's at

Good information, just upgraded to Sky HD and the are sending me a free HD box with 500GB + £10 per month for basic plan as I been with Sky over 4 year and never have equipment upgrade. (of course you have to tell them you want to move to Freesat HD)

I got the 1080p 32" Technika about 3 years ago and it was a really nice screen, mate of mine had a 24" one with a Samsung panel and that was really decent too. Bought a 47" LG led from the amazon warehouse about 6 months ago for £380 and would probably rather have this at this price.

Any reason this isn't getting hotter? I'm not expert but it seems like a fantastic deal?

I just got Samsung BD-F6500 for my quite old LG tv (37 inch fat lcd) but for some reason, the resolutions don't match Both player and tv are set to 16:9 and yet the output is cut on the sides (kinda like zoomed in). So I am thinkin of putting that 37 incher somewhere else and getting this technika. Should I do it?

I just got this:

I got the 40" TECHNIKA one from TESCO which was silly cheap on this site just before Christmas last year. It's been fantastic so far but the only thing that brings it down slightly is that it will not play MP4, x264 or MKV files unfortunately.

Thats not to say this one doesn't as it's almost a year down the line and technology has moved on, but just thought i'd let you know.

Anyone received theirs yet? How is it?

I've got mine down for delivery next Wednesday, if it's rubbish let me know and I'll cancel it :-p

Am I being stupid or is there no way of getting the £10 off code AND clubcard points? If I'm registering a new account, my clubcard won't get the points

I registered a new account then later added my clubcard number. Appeared to work.

I'm doing something wrong guys.....I've signed up to Quidco, I've searched and ended up on the Tesco site but I can't find this TV anywhere....can anyone help this oldtimer plse?

Mine is for next Wednesday delivery (18th) as well. Couldn't get the clubcard on the new account as it was already registered to my main account (could I go to local tesco's service desk and get the points with the confirmation email?). I hope it is nice.

If I decide to keep it, I am thinking of adding the square trade 5 year warranty. Anyone else getting the warranty?

When you click on visit retailer via Quidco, just go to the link (tesco.com/dir…prd?pageLevel=sku&skuId=179-6118) and it will do it's magic.

I think the warranty might be cheaper from Amazon but not sure. I'm undecided because its 20% the cost of the tv, which was already fair cheap.

Any reviews of the tv itself yet?

Was out of stock now back in stock at £ 299.

Glad I did not order this now as I have paid
just a few pounds more for a Samsung with
much higher spec and five year guarantee.

@taungfox
How much did yo9u pay for the Samsung can I ask, and where did you get it from?
Do you9 have a link?

Mine turned up a couple hours ago and now ive had a couple of hours to play with it i thought id let you know my thoughts.

No dead pixels that i can see which is a good start. Though ive not ran any tests on it yet so fingers crossed.

The Freeview quality isnt great with a good amount of bleeding. Would def benefit from having an HD tuner

The speakers are quite possibly the tinniest i have ever heard on a flatscreen. Even at fairly low levels it was whining. Whacked my BoBos i(external speakers running on an amp) nto the headphone socket and all is well. Alot less feedback than I got when doing the same with my Samsung, so im happy.

The menu on it is pretty basic, i didnt expect all the bells and whistles you get from a higher end branded one. The only thing im missing is an equalizer as it will only let u adjust treble and bass. But because i can adjust them elsewhere thats not really an issue for me.

Got it rigged up to my gaming PC, running it at 1920x1080 @ 60hz and its looking pretty sharp. Just slew a Dragon in Skyrim and cant see any visible ghosting from about 10 foot away (you'll want to turn DYNAMIC mode on for gaming. Uses double the power running on ECOHOME but absolutely necessary if you've got an half decent rig.) When ive had chance to clear all the packaging away I'll be able to sit my usual 3-4 foot away and really see how this baby performs.

The USB player is fairly run of the mill. Couldn't get it to recognize my External HDD, but it did pick up my USB stick. So you'll just have to prey that whatever you're plugging in is compatible.Threw various music files at it, played them all no problem. Video wise it will not play MKVs, MP4s, FLVs which is abit disappointing. It did play all the AVIs i threw at it though (DIVX, XVID.) Again because ive got various tablets and media players laying round its not a show stopper for me, just would have been nice.

Build quality is quite good. Nothing on a high end Panasonic or the like but given the price im impressed.

All in all im very happy with my purchase. Because over 95% of the time i will be using it has a PC monitor alot of the bad points are automatically sidestepped. If i were using this primarily for TV i'd probably be tempted to spend abit more and get something more capable.

The TV it replaced was an LG that cost me over £600 about 4-5 years ago and, as a screen its every bit as good. With the advent of 4K i couldnt justify dropping any real money on something that will be replaced as soon as it becomes affordable. So this fits the bill nicely.

I've owned alot of TVs\monitors in my time and for what they're asking, its a **** steal.
