Good find.

Quidco available too.

No divx

I think these things have really had their day - and ones that are not wasting power to spin a disk with USB or card input will replace them entirely.

Quite a good price though - but again if its only working on standard DVD format then its not as handy as you would hope.

Do you know where you could get an aforementioned usb / card one for a similar price? I agree, DVDs are on their way out for portables, much like CDs went.

I agree, I considered getting a portable dvd player, then thought not only is the battery life on most 2-2.5 hours unless you spend over £100 on one the screen resolutions are generally very poor.

Personally I find my netbook a better all round solution, not only is it a great portable pc, divx ripped onto it with the wi-fi switched off, and medium brightness I can get up to 3 hours out of it, upgrading to a more powerful battery even 6 hours, not have to worry about disks and store plenty of divx titles on its 120gb hard disk.....£199 for a netbook combined with hard disk or £120+ for a 8" plus screened portable dvd player with a better resolution than 480x234 on these budget portables, and even then only 800x480..give me a netbook with 1024x600 any day!
