as in will it work? yes
will it miraculously improve a poor signal,no.
works fine upstairs for freeview HD for us here

Prepare for breakup and utter frustration at the picture!

Roof is the only way to go unless you are in a very strong signal area.

Good price though if it works, not voted either way.

Ordered! Thanks. Was just about to spend £20 on one for the bedroom

No, because it's free delivery to store. The vast majority if people will leave near to a store they can collect from.

Will these work with a HD Freeview box?

haha! quote of the day! I love this!

got 3 of these they pick up a great signal without using the booster.
I got them at this price last week,im sure this is already posted, but what the hell. Heat added

These will work for some people who live quite close to the transmitter. For most people, this and other small amplified aerials, wont do a damn thing. With aerials, along with many other things, size matters.

I used some well known brands (SLX, One for all etc) top of the range ones and my Humax stb picture quality was awful, dropping out etc. I used a signal meter to find the strongest signal but it was always rubbish picture. I spent hours trying to get a good picture (no foil in walls or other metal blocking the signal, it was the same when I put it inside the window)

So I got a log periodic aerial and pointed it at my nearest transmitter and got perfect signal. But my nearest transmitter does not put out HD so I pointed it at Crystal Palace and now get all channels even HD even though the transmitter is ~18 miles away.

Forgot to mention the log periodic aerial is unamplified and sitting on top of the wardrobe pointing at the transmitter through a wall. It cost 23 squid delivered with 5 meters of good quality coax (think its satellite dish cable) and the connectors for each end of the cable.

This sounds like exactly what I need. Any chance you could point me in the right direction (haha...) please by posting a link to, or the name of, where you got yours from? Cheers!

Yup, just like that .... look for a seller on amazon called tektica selling one with a 10db gain for 13.21 delivered. I got mine from amazon but the seller I bought it from no longer sells it. You will also need some good coax, long enough to get from the rear end of the aerial to your set top box or telly, I recommend looking up copper foil satellite cable ..... and a f-connector for the aerial end of that cable with a standard aerial connector for the telly end.

I also bought a signal meter because getting it pointed at the strongest signal is a lot easier said than done.

Check to see if your transmitter is vertically polarised or horizontal. A buddy told me that main transmitters (e.g. crystal palace) would be horizontally polarised so I can lay my aerial flat on top of the wardrobe. The relay transmitters (eg Orpington) are generally vertically polarised and the aerial should be balanced on its side ..... I remember checking that information and finding some supporting evidence and some information that contradicted it ....

And I just read now that my local transmitter has switched over on 12th June and is now transmitting the 4 HD channels as well .... might swap :P

Original Poster

Hello Everyone,
I just post deals which I think are good + benefit to other members, this deal I posted, I have been scorned + disgraced by lots of members, at the end of the day it is your choice to go ahead with a deal or not.
So I have made my decision not to post any more deals on this site, as this site seems to be changing with a lot of ignorant people, who don't appreciate help for deals found by members.
I also had many good deals lined up for the next few days, which I will not be posting now, Sorry!
This is another good member,(see my profile) you have lost, sorry for all the good members who did appreciate my deals.
Goodbye

do not get too disheartened by the negative posts! every website has it's share of rude and ignorant people and sometimes it seems that they can be the most vocal ones, but the majority of members on this site are grateful for the deals posted, and they show that by voting hot on the deals even if they don't show it by commenting. also a lot of the time if people are being negative- it's against the deal itself and the not against the poster of the deal, so it shouldn't be taken personally!
basically obviously there will be rude people all over the internet but you shouldn't let them put you off community websites like this because, on the whole, people appreciate when members take the time to share good deals

have people received this yet? I set mine up, and started auto tuning my tv. it got a few channels but not all. so i put the gain variable on max and then started auto tuning on my tv again.

The antenna seems to have broken during the auto tuning process!? the light no longer switches on when i turn the gain control and it doesn't get a signal anymore. Did i do something wrong? i don't quite get what the gain control does

now i have to go through the hassle of returning it and ordering another one
