Cold for non prime..

Heat from me. I bought a Technomate adapter to add another port to our existing powerline set up. Got it becasue it was cheap but it works just as well as our TP Link ones.

Heat added. I have 200mbps powerline adaptors and they feed my upstairs 50mb virgin fibre broadband to my downstairs living room (different circuit) well. Getting 50-54mbps broadband down there

If you have between 70-100mb fibre broadband and are looking for new powerline adaptors I'd plump for the 1200mbps badged adaptors to manage it.

I need these, was thinking of getting the wireless version to help a black spot room in the house but might just try moving the router. but just to confirm how these work - you plug one in near your router and connect it to your router, then plug in another elsewhere and connect device (smart blu-ray player in my case) to this plug at other end via Ethernet cable... that simple?

is it worth paying the extra few ££ for the 500mps one, if using an android box on it etc?

Yes, that's all there is to it.

You could try the cheaper set first and if there is a problem with them take it back and plump for the next price up. If you are trying to get your 50mb fibre broadband (or slower internet connection) from one place in the house to the other, then the 200mbps will do that. I have old comtrend 200mbps doing that well.

Cheers, you asked the very question that was going through my head. A very good price for what is does, BUT 1 thing you may need to consider (I could be wrong)...You may need to plug the 1 near the router, into the WALL, and NOT in to an extension lead.
