Just bought one from Ebuyer and spot this in woolworths thats £20 cheaper. I think this is a great price, and I'm glad that I could put a deal out at last lol.

Thanks npnw

Ebuyer was doing this for £349 delivered but as you say, the price has gone up by £20.

Dont forget 5% cashback via Quidco.

Great deal, very happy with this tv that I actually ordered from Ebuyer while it was £350. The Xbox 360 looks brilliant in Hi-Def. As it doesn't have a VGA input I've ordered from ebay a HDMI to DVI cable along with a DVI to VGA adaptor so I can connect to my PC, currently using an S-Video connection which isn't fabulous. Hope this helps anyone thinking of buying one.

Can you tell me what the picture is like on this TV when just watching standard definition?
Also, any idea if it does 1080?

I bought one of these from ebuyer, when it was £350. As @dy says, the Xbox 360 looks very good via component, so don't be worried that it does not have VGA.

Standard definition television is also quite nice with this set. I've watched many DVDs on it via scart and it's actually fine. The upscaler softens the picture quite nicely, so that it doesn't look blocky at all. It also avoid pixel-crawl quite well, which some of the other cheaper LCD TVs exhibit. e.g. Dixons Matsui 32".

For this price, the TV is a steal. The contrast ratio, on paper isn't great and to be honest, it doesn't come close to sets in the £700 range, as you'd expect.

It does 1080i, but not 1080p, to answer your question. I'd like to see this set beside some of the other cheapies, such as this:

dabs.com/pro…spx?Quicklinx=4C4W&SearchType=1&SearchTerms=32"+lcd&PageMode=3&SearchKey=All&SearchMode=All&NavigationKey=50010

And other ones, such as the Hannspree.

In summary, if you can afford £550-£600, I'd get this instead:

dabs.com/pro…spx?Quicklinx=413F&SearchType=1&SearchTerms=32"+lcd&PageMode=3&SearchKey=All&SearchMode=All&NavigationKey=50429

If you can only afford £350, then I would recommend this one.

welcome to HUKD stu38

It's a pretty good looking set for the money. My housemate bought one last year and the picture quality is very good on standard def Sky. One thing we did have an issue with was getting an RGB signal from his DVD player and the picture was really frightening, I don't think I've ever seen such bad colour bleeding Keep this on RGB, component or HDMI though and there's not much to moan about at this price.

Thanks for the pointer npnw and extra info all

Can youadvise whether this is wall mountable?

Thanks

This does look a lovely set - and a great price.

I already have a 1080i set, but a friend is asking advice, and I can't find many specs on this aside from HDMI and Scart connections etc.

I checked the web site, asked the store manager who didn't know, asked for the instruction booklet which he didn't have but gave me Head Office customer relations - who also didn't know ??!!

What is the pixel resolution, does it handle progressive, is it wall mountable and is it HDCP enabled ?

I put one up on the wall Friday easy as pops. Make sure that it has the wall mounting brackets in the box. If you have a stud partition get the correct wall fixings (I used the large threaded screw in type that you then screw into again). Hope it helps

The resolution is 1366x768 and anything that says HD Ready supports HDCP.

Yeh but you gott note its £10 postage unless you collect

I worked at woolies and we never ahd the stuff people had bought even though they got their message saying to come in

NPNW
Are you saying that it comes with a wall mounting kit?

Is ther eis any discount codes for this tv

tis a good set, i am really pleased, and the one i got from ebuyer has a really cool blue square ring of light when its on standby. (yes i know i should swith it off at the wall but the light is cool!!)

I wall mounted it with the brackets that came with it (not seen if this one from woolies has the brackets in the box) and it was really easy with the paper template that was with the instructions.

i've not yet connected my PC up to it, but will be doing that as soon as i can, i would be interested to know how @dy gets on with the VGA to DVI and DVI to HDMI convertors. (i myself haven't checked what my PC outputs!!!)

Thanks Kanester for the excellent reply and edi for the welcome. Cheers guys!

The code given on the sjstv web site is wrong. According to Sky it is 0065, and it works!.
Ihave just bought this model after seeing all the good comments from this forum, and i have to agree with everything that has been said. It's brilliant with a good picture and i am now awaiting the Sony PS3 to see how good it's HD performance is with this unit. I'll let you know next week.

I bought this instore yesterday, and it was only an extra £4.95 delivered. Due to arrive on Tuesday

Hi,

We've also just bought one of these and considering it's only £350 I really recommend it. The only one niggle we've had with it is the user interface is not that intuitive oh, and that the remote control turns our lights off when we adjust the sound, but I think won't be a widespread problem!

Nicki

Now that you guys have had your tvs in use for a while, have your opinions changed ? Would be interested in your opinions. Especially anyone using it with an XBox 360....

This television is brilliant with the PS3. It detects it displaying 1080i spec and the resolution is awesome!
