Great price for a compact GaN PD 3.0 charger ♨️

OK - silly question time. I have a Lenovo Tablet (Thanks UK Deals!) and it comes with a large brick charger marked max 65W. and has a USB-C plug. Could I safely replace it with this nice compact charger, which presumably would take longer to charge the tablet, but would be a lot more convenient for travelling.
I would check online to see what Max Wattage the tablet charges at. The 65w charger may be overkill in the first place so you may not even notice a difference in the 30w charger if that's the battery's peak.

Maybe its just the picture but it looks very small. Wonder if it complies with the requirement the distance between the periphery of the plug and live/neutral pins must be at least 9.5mm?

They list the dimensions as 1.9"x1.9"x1.7". Presuming its 1.9" (48.26mm) wide, thats almost exactly the least you could get away with:

22.2mm (pin centres) + 6.4mm (pin cross section) + 9.5*2 (min distance to periphery on each side) = 47.6mm

Pretty tight tolerance but might be ok if the width is accurate.

Unfortunately I've had to send a few things back because someone has decided its fine to shrink the UK Type G plug as they wish :/ That min distance is to protect you from touching one of the pins when inserting/removing the plug. (edited)
Looks like it does. (Rule is hovering above the plug so makes the plug dimensions look a tiny bit smaller than they are.)
Given it manages to do 11V@3A in such a tiny space without becoming horrifically hot, I'm beginning to think the claim of GaN might be true too?

    I've just been testing this.

    PD3.0 (5V 3A, 9V 3A, 12V 2.5A,15V 2A, 20V 1.5A) and PPS (3.3V-5.9V 3A, 3.3V-11V 3A) work fine. Even maxed out, it doesn't get unreasonably hot.

It does not seem to have QuickCharge (QC 4.0/3.0/2.0) though, as far as I can tell. If that's the case, then it makes me wonder about the claims to have GaN components?

    1. Ooof, BIG GOTCHA if you're intending to use this for travel: the documentation says it's only rated for 220V-240V (not 110V-240V inclusive as is usually the case.)

    2. If you can't find the instructions.... they're hidden in the very bottom of the box.

    3. If you want the extended 3 year warranty, you'll need to register here- tecknet.co.uk/app…ion

Why do they put blue search lights on these? Who needs their bedroom lighting up at night?
    Tiny circle of blu-tac. Sorted.

I don't suppose anyone has tried one with a steamdeck? Seeing conflicting reports on what spec charger you need.
It should charge fine, but if you also want to retain the option of playing while charging, you should definitely get a 45w PD 3 charger like this one:

Really impressed by the size of the charger. Will see what speeds I get on the S22 Ultra. I am hoping for at least 27-30w
Mine is charging at Super Fast Charge, and not Super Fast Charge 2.0.

    I expected that.

Mine only lasted a day, now it has stopped working. Sending it back. (edited)
From what you said elsewhere, it took out your phone? If that's true that's really serious. Chargers might very well go faulty but they should never be taking out other hardware when that happens.

I was literally asking the missus hours ago if she needed a new adaptor to use with her iPhone.

    she said no.

    arriving tomorrow lel

(it has QC so I can use it as a spare though)

Good find Switchy. Had this on saved - just to note £10.97 for the first of sept., was wondering when someone would post. Anyone confirm the PPS actually works? (edited)

Is there an easy way of finding out if this will turbo charge my Xiaomi?

My phone will charge supports Fast charging 33W, so I'm guessing this is spot on.

Will I need to buy a special cable that supports fast charging as well?
you can use your existing Xiaomi cable connected to this adapter to charge your device

Hi I got this today and I'm trying to charge my phone a Poco x3 which has ultra charge but I'm only getting quick charge. It's 33w so should be charging at ultra speed but it isn't. Anyone have any idea why or is this simply not as advertised?
Nothing other than the original charger and lead will get that 33W rate on Poco phones. I know 'cos I have one.

The 33W charge rate for Poco phones is a propretary Mi Fast Charge standard, not PD or QC/QuickCharge. Have a look at the original lead that came with the phone, and you'll see an extra connection in the USB socket/lead.

EDIT: Just for reference though, the charger will definitely do 33W (PPS 11V 3A = 33W) as I've tested it up to that on my equipment (that's about as far as my equipment goes - anything over 35W I start getting overload errors flashing at me plus angry beeps, lol!) (edited)
