Are these cheap keyboards any good for gaming or should I spend a lot more and get a mechanical one?

I bought a AUKEY Mechanical Keyboard from Amazon last year for about £30 and it's been brilliant. Would definitely recommend mechanical
I'm on the lookout for a new keyboard and mouse. It's for a gaming pc (mostly strategy and rts with some old school emulation) but is there much of an advantage having a "gaming" keyboard and mouse over just say a basic wireless logitech keyboard and mouse?

For strategy games, I wouldn't waste your money, for FPS games it is worth it.

For anything other than FPS games no not really, and even then it won't be much aof a difference between just getting a egular cheap keyboard for £5. But they don't have pretty lights!

Mostly aesthetic choices, if you are used to a certain keyboard you may even do worse on a more expensive one because you are not used to it. I remember barely being able to use a really high end keyboard at a pc cafe sorta place and I just could not feel comfy using it.

Same for mouse, it NEEDS to be comfortable. Having programmable buttons on it is very useful for things like MMO's.
