There is a lot there for the price of 5 pints of Beer.

Yes as it won't last long

5 pints for 15 sheets! your a very lucky man?

I bought one from exactly the same source. It was utter rubbish, too many faults to list. To be fair to Tesco they refunded me my money and let me keep it as it was uneconomic to return.

If anyone wants it and is prepared to pay the postage, they can have it for nothing. PM if this interests you.

Don't waste your money, let it go

I bought one of these for my little boys room, load of crap, it would crash out all the time .

5? Not in London, more like 3?

Might be cheap but it's junk... I bought one for the World Cup this year, I think it was £18 then.
Didn't find any of the HD channels, unlike my 4 year old Tecknika PVR... then crashed continually, terrible C64 quality graphics and interface and frustratingly slow... Didn't even come with a HDMI cable. Apart from that it was great.

Cheap and nasty. Avoid.

So, 'Pause, record and rewind live TV when connected to a USB' - what does this mean? I only want one to be able to do those three things.

Thanks

Sounds like it has no storage, so requires a USB stick or drive to be plugged in

Fine for £15. I wouldn't even not bother reading reviews at this price...good luck though if you plan on finding one!!!

oh ignore last sentence! Thought it was in store!!!

Let it go, let it go......

Brought a similar technika box last year , didnt work well , wouldnt risk another.

Subject to a new 18 or 24 month contract.

Have never been impressed with any Technika product, they usually go faulty on me after a few months.

Is it not worth it just for the freeview HD ?

From reading the reviews it appears these boxes has a weak receiver, and needs a strong signal to work, got to be worth a punt at £15. You have 7 days to check it out if it is no good return it.

These are crap. Don't buy. Kept getting horrible lag on HD channels.

Seriously, don't buy these, we've had 3, thought it was a bargain at £30, they are fine for a short while, then just freeze or become completely unresponsive with the remote.

You have been warned.

Get a used youview recorder, I got a 500gb model with 2 powerline adapters for £35

Any alternatives people can suggest?

Arrived today menus basic but not too slow. I have a good Freeview signal the picture is fine.

If you are buying this to watch your recordings on a PC/Mac tablet etc it will only work on the SD recordings HD freeview is encrypted on almost all Freeview HD devices. VLC works well with the SD recordings no conversion needed.

The JVC 32" TV LT32C740 does record HD to USB and plays back on Mac, PC and most other makes of TV's. I had hoped this box would do HD. I'll keep it just for recording things to take on holiday. The HD recordings play back well on this box.

If you want HD channels, or some channels that only available through internet connected channels e.g motors tv, this box is good. The remote is cheap, but for £15 there is no room to complain.

If you're in the market for a freeview HD box to have as your main box, then like someone's already mentioned, it'd be better to get an internet package which includes a decent PVR.

Cheap for a reason 35%

PROS
Reasonable pictures, low price
CONS
Poorly presented EPG, unreliable recording, frequent lock-ups
