Two questions in case anyone knows
1. Are there custom ROMs available?
2. Is it shipped from China or EU warehouse?

1) Can't see any discussion of ROMs but I'll update if I see anything on XDA, etc.

2) The Dual Boot version is pretty new (at least, judging by TechTablets' comments from mid-January awaiting the Dual Boot's release), so the EU Warehouse option won't appear for a while.

Here's a comparison page here, X80 Plus (bear in mind this one is Dual Boot) and Teclast X98 Air (says III) devicespecifications.com/en/…064

Thanks, I looked at the Air III dual while in Hong Kong and almost bought one then. But I haven't tracked it since.

This one is smaller but much cheaper. I'm worried about the battery. Can't decide whether to buy it. I've heard of Gearbest from this site and seen them mentioned before but know nothingof them. Where do they ship from?

I need to research this one more. If it has cellular, I will bite.

Says the battery is 3800mAh, very much doubt this has 2G/3G, never heard it mentioned with the X80 Plus.

Re battery life, from xiaomitoday.com/tec…ce/"This tablet uses a Lithium-Ion battery with 3800 mAh capacity. The manufacturer claims 3 hours of graphically intensive games before you have to put it on the charger. In our testing scenarios, these numbers are accurate. Overall usage and standby time are also increased because of the DPTE intelligent battery management and Windows low-power technology."

...though, again, this X80 Plus is dual-boot, not sure how the battery life will be running Android.

I assume the Android partition can be wiped?
32GB of storage is pretty low...and I personally would rather run Windows than Android.
Any idea if there is a specific case/keyboard combo to go with this tablet ?

I have the 10 inch 98X version and am very very happy with it,great display and battery life,so expect this one would be similiar. However can some one suggest why the HDMI output only works on Android and not on Windows, any advice would be much appreciated.

The Windows-only version is £13 more so probably not the best solution! http://www.gearbest.com/tablet-pcs/pp_253021.html

No experience of dual-boot tablets - I have seen various reports removing Android with other tablets, so hopefully someone will chime in.

Hmm...just been looking at the comments on that other thread; poor battery life, poor Android ROM optimisation and v.v.slow charging (seems to be a common theme for these Chinese tablets).

Much as I would like an upgraded processor, I can't really see too much point in moving on from my Asus T100. It's a good price though, so heat added
sounds to good to be true
Really good spec for the price! Anything similar in 10" though?

Heated OP!

If the resolution was FHD I'd get it
Could someone give me some information on how would the whole duty tax, or any other additional fees work on these items to the UK? Thanks

I have chuwi vi10 ultimate, I wouldn't buy it again, poor battery life, very average screen that is easy to scratch, long to charge and very plasticky.
Windows + Android in one device, what a nightmare
Is this still available in the EU warehouse ?
I'll just quote myself (from Post #5)

Chris on TechTablets says "...they seem to be clearing out the Z8X00 stock waiting for the new and improved Atom Z8X50 series which Intel should have delivered to them by now."
Mine has shipped today. Hopefully wifi wont be that bad.
