Is it possible to upgrade the version of android, I understand it's not so easy with the dual boots.
Also anything similar in a 10" with a keyboard option?. Cheers

These dual boot tablets are very hit and miss, great idea in theory but underwhelming In practice, i've been considering one of the more expensive ones for a long time but the mixed reviews put me off.

Found the same , that's why I would only give it's go when it's cheap enough so that I can't complain

Looks like the one I've got!
The partition leaves Android next to no space to use.
There was a firmware updater tool that wouldn't update too.
The external memory slot wouldn't work with android on mine either.
Id never consider Teclast again at any price.

The specs reel you in....

There is an alleged workaround to remove the chinese element, change the product key for an English version. Create a new admin & reboot & on reboot it is supposed to install all of the correct language packs and remove any rubbish. Then remove the original admin and then it should be english only, sadly it didnt work for me.

In earlier versions of Windows (up to a least Windows 7 anyway?, can't comment on Windows 8.x, as never tried), there were both Regional Settings AND Keyboard Settings that would allow it to Default it to a Language of your preference, etc? (whereby which, it would then stay ... )

Window's 10 gets rid of both those Settings if I'm not mistaken?, and has rather re-badged it into one singular Setting called Global Settings (I believe?).

Either way, you may be in need of downloading certain 'Language Files' via Microsoft's website too perhaps? (to force it either Default, and/or behave exactly as to how you'd like/want it too etc etc etc ... )

I'm talking in nutshell moments here, but I'm sure there possibly may be more nuts and bolts tweaking of what's necessary (so to speak), then that what I've described etc? - if certain prior HUKD 'comments' of previous Dual-Boot Tablet's (on and off) of the last or whatever, are anything to go by?.

I'm just thinking out loud here mind?, as the eventual objective could prove a lot more straightforward then that of what I've even described there for you already above etc?.

Anyhow, allllll the very best with that yeh?. :-)

Everything was going so well ..until the last 6 words

I have an older Teclast with similar specs. The version of android is not upgradable and comes with built in viruses (scan with Sophos if you don't believe me) so you have to live with 5.1. it's possible to delete the other partitions and use it as as single boot but honestly just buy a Kindle for simplicity's sake.

They do dont they, my advice is spend a bit more money and get a better one... oh the wifi is dire! going 15ft away from the router it loses the signal. I had high hopes of replacing my old netbook but thats not gonna happen

the kindle fire hd8 is a great deal at the mo so I agree with you here!

Possibel to delete the android partition and claim it for Windows?

As per my previous above, it MAY require a hell of a lot of tinkering with first like?.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

And/or go onto the Android website or something like that?.

To then download a more recentish version of Android onto it? (eg. Android 6 perhaps?, but not necessarily Android 7+ instead?).

Or alternatively, slap on a bit ReMixOS (the viable Android alternative) onto there instead maybe?, hehehe. :-D

WHOAH!!, funnily enough, as per your now above, I do recall one or two various advises in the past that indirectly touched on similar in the past ...

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, i recall it sounding a bit long winded at the time mind you? (especially as some of those doing it reported it more in the way of a bit or miss sort of experiment too etc?.

Which is a proper shame really?, as the Americanised U.S. English Language Installation of Windows, can more then readily be changed to the British UK English Installation of Windows, and/or visa-versa?!, but yet ... (I don't get it?). :-(

OR perhaps the fact that probably (more often then not I'm guessing?) the fact that the version of Windows that's been used in China are illegal copies and the like?, then ... (who knows?).

But either way, more headwork to figure that conundrum out perhaps, may be required, either way?, lol.

Android isn't updateable whereas in theory the Windows 10 should be so

yes it can, its like installing windows on a new drive, make a usb bootable with windows 10 and use an otg cable.

Interesting comment?, hmmmmmmmm, that's most unfortunate that?. :-(

As I HAVE on certain various occasions considered at least one or two of some of these Dual-Boot like Tablet's on the past etc?, but ...

Never got one in the end, as the choice for such Dual-Boot things last year+ were a hell of a lot more abundant then that of now, I believe?, lol, and when I did finally consider one, the price's then kept fluctuating allll over the place too?. :-(

So I never bothered in the end, lol, afterall, I was rocking separate Windows Tablet's and sperate Android Tablet's also, so I wasn't going to kill myself over these alleged more 'convenience' thing's ...

I did go for a Cenovo Dual-Boot TV Box/Device about a year or so though?.

Impressive as it sounded at the time, I believe my main interest in it was more the HUKD impulsive 'buy-factor', moreso then that of anything ...

But saying that, it fine still.

Perhaps consider a Dual-Boot TV Box thingy instead guy's? (IF these Dual-Boot Tablet's are rather proving wayyyyy more headache then they're worth, or whatever?).

Just my thoughts for the day mind?, that's all, hehehe. :-)

Then (also in theory), can't also, that same Windows OTG method you just described above, be also used to just simply update the draconian Chinese version of Windows 10, to a more preferable English version of Windows 10 instead?, or ...

Just a thought?. :-)

Hahahahaha,that it is!. :-D

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I'm in a 50/50 frame of mind as to whether to hold myself out till the longgggg Black Friday/Cyber Monday Weekend thing, before then getting one myself also?.

Or should I rather bite the bullet NOW, and just get it for the hear and now instead?, lol.

Decisions decisions, huh, lol.

yep fresh install, but I'm concerned about drivers

You can copy the drivers off the tablet with Double Driver. Or make a copy of the System32/drivers folder. And also make a Windows disk image just in case.

I bought this tablet direct from Teclast on eBay. I only really use the Android boot and the tablet is fast enough certainly compared to other tablet's i've used in the past....but....as another poster has said the battery life is dreadful. Any sort of tv viewing just drains the battery in around 2 hours.

Double driver, never heard of that before. I will have to get that.

I've taken a risk on this tablet from Gearbest (~£170):
