Use code 78818d to bring price down to £53.36.

Same spec as for the now expired Cube iwork8 tablet which went oos, and this one is lower price which makes any customs charges a bit more palatable.

Bad tablet, had one for 2 weeks, one of the few things I've actually returned to China for my money back...

WiFi is terrible on it, really quite laggy and zero support from Teclast.

For the price its worth a look, will be better than my amazon fire 7"

Hopefully my WiFi will be okay but if not I can always use a one quid wifi dongle.

You're welcome

I was actually looking at this already when you posted on the other thread but good call (even if you didn't spot the discount code) and thanks

For anyone swithering over the great specs vs WiFi issue, it seems to be pot luck whether or not you get a good one or not. Seems to be poor soldering causing a problem and there are guides on how to fix it with a soldering iron, but I'm not overly keen on doing that on a brand new tablet.

As a backup you can get a Rtl8188 WiFi dongle (£1.24).

Of course it's far from ideal if you can't charge and use WiFi at the same time so OTG hub adapter cable (£1.22) should take care of that and give options for a keyboard or games controller.

The lengths I go to just to remain a cheapskate....

Is there definitely a handling fee then?

That dongle isn't micro so you'll need an adapter as well

Wouldn't need one with the adapter cable.

I just had a look through some older posts and found this and this saying it appears to be related to items being sent via Swiss post.

When you check out there's 2 free postage options, the default is Air Parcel Register 7-20 days, and 2nd option is Priority Direct Mail 7-12 days. I wonder if one of those doesn't use Swiss post.

Found this and it says "NOTE: Netherlands Direct Mail has been combined into the Priority Direct Mail. If you are in a European country simply choose Priority Direct Mail and it will be shipped via Netherlands Direct Mail."

I understand that Netherlands Direct Mail was replaced with Swiss post so I'm hoping that Air Parcel Register doesn't use Swiss post, though it may not make any difference anyway.

All of the different Banggood threads that have recently had people mentioning the additional charges appear to have been sent with "Air Parcel Register" so it might actually be better to select "Priority Direct Mail" instead, just to see if it's any different.

Thanks for the info, I've mailed them asking if they'll change it.

Bought one of these a year ago, still using it, great item. Screen is quite dim compared to other tablets, and no glassbl screen so can scratch, but still happy. Paid £80 at Gearbest so good price.

This on offer on gearbest, it says £51.17 (38% off) but when you click on it says £63.04 (27% off), dunno if I'm doing something wrong.

not enough storage memory on windows partition. No windows updates because of this!!. Can't load new windows in from usb as no drivers for tablet etc. bad wifi, so was using wifi dongle.
No updates to firmware from Teclast. . i have just dumped mine and it is only 19 months old. Apart from that the specs for the tablet were great.....PS tried to reload windows and android partitions but tablet wouldn't recognise any usb drives from bios.

Memory has got nothing to do with Windows update. You need 20gb storage to do an update and of course the windows partition is smaller than that. You can either do a new install of Windows from a usb drive or reduce the size of your android partition, then increase your windows partition. Of course you shouldn't have to fanny about like that to achieve this and not everyone has the technical ability to even follow instructions.

Not sure what "back up with firmware" means. From what I've read it's easy enough to reinstall android and/or Windows partitions. If you wanted twrp to do it I'm not sure how that would work with a dual os.

Also to update Windows I assume you could create symbolic link on an SD card or usb drive to c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution (stopping and starting Windows update service at the appropriate times).

Hahahahahaha, loving your self proclaimed cheapskate comment, hehehehe, as I too have had moment's where I was able to relate to same too, lol.

Out of interest, thanx for your 2 above mentioned products, but the £1.22, and £1.24 cost of the individual item's doesn't factor in the $3-$4+ individual delivery costs a piece, does it?, or ...

Both items are listed as free shipping (this is common on Chinese goods with either their government subsidising it, or mail to China being expensive and offsetting the costs, depending on which source you read).

However, after further investigation it seems that many OTG hubs don't allow charging and data at the same time, or if they do that it doesn't work with this tablet (or people didn't follow instructions).

Having investigated further, if I do have any WiFi issues I reckon I'll network it to another device (e.g. my android TV box) via Bluetooth.

Mine arrived today, WiFi wasn't great, installed WiFi Doctor which seemed to help. Also holding it upsidedown I get almost no signal, but turn it right way up and it's considerably better. It's not ideal having issues but it's fine for most things and if I need good download speeds I can move 2 feet and get very good speeds. For 53 quid (no customs) I'm happy with it
