***Please don't confuse these pans with the very similar looking NON-induction-suitable pans from Tefal, which are much cheaper. These pans here WILL work on Induction hobs as well as other hob types.***

I've been looking for some qualtiy Induction Pan Sets for a while, but they seem to be usually relatively expensive and very rare on Offer. Had my eye on these Tefal ones for a while, which even at full price seemed worth the money, but with the price reduction, it seemed like a no-brainer and bought them!!

Here are some of the features:
- Set includes a 16cm saucepan, a 18cm saucepan, a 20cm saucepan, a 20cm frying pan and a 26cm frying pan;
- The 3 Saucepans come with glass lids with silicone knobs;
- All pans are made of Aluminium and have Stainless steel base and can even be used in the oven at up to 175°C for one hour;
- They are also supposed to be non-stick, scratch resistant and have the Tefal ThermoSpot Temperature indicator;

Note: As far as I understand, this is a Bank holiday deal, but as usual with Currys, the deal will be live at least until the end of the following wednesday (03/09/2015).

All under £60 (just) better than £80

Thanks, but don't think these are suitable for induction hobs - we have had to give our pans away to family since fitting a new kitchen!

Guys... the ones you are talking about are NOT suitable for Induction Hobs... so those will NOT work with induction, hence why they are so much cheaper... The ones I posted here (model number: E857S544) WILL work on Induction hobs..

interested to know (but not enough to look on google), how on earth can a pan NOT work on an induction hob?
Original Poster
The way induction hobs work, is by heating up the base of the pan and not the hob itself (as conventionally),... but this will only work with pans that have a base with magnetic properties, i.e. if a magnet attracts to the base, it will work on an induction hob, if it doesn't, it's unlikely it will,....
the apparant benefits of this system is that there is direct heat transfer, less heat loss, and eventually saving you some money. It is also supposed to be safer, as when you remove the pan, no heat is generated by the hob,...and heat up times are also quicker and can even beat heating by gas as far as I understood.
Not the scientific explaination, but hope it helps.
