Philips air fryer far better product.
Also invest in a smoke alarm.
Had mine for 4 years - used every other day practically and never had a problem with it. I do have a fire blanket close by though - just in case!

Good price but not all they are hyped up to be most stuff ends up crushed by the paddle.
We've had one as well for about 4 years and use it about 3-4 times a week they are good but we have had to replace a few parts over the years like the spinning paddle, the lid and the handle but all of these were on flea bay for a pretty cheap price.
Love mine
I really don't understand these. Why not just coat cut up chips in olive oil, add some salt and pepper and cook them in the oven for half an hour?

Because that's not how most people fry chips.
only 1kg capacity!
Good price, but terrible build quality.
Be ready to replace lid and paddle in and out of the 12 months warranty.
Most of the other manufacturers have the confidence in their products to offer a 2 year guarantee.
Oven chips......for 99.99 less. I know what id chose.

Rubbish, had ours for over a year. Used constantly and nothing has broken or chipped. An earlier comment was more accurate some items get crushed by the paddle.
Mine recently had the motor die, just over a years use.

How often do you eat more than 1kg of chips?

Is your logic also "Don't buy a coffee machine, just get instant coffee" and "Don't buy a car, just use public transport", or even "Don't buy a computer or internet , just go the library/internet cafe/etc."?
i have the family one and build quality on the lid is poor, had 4 replacement lids so far they start to crack

everyday if he lives up to his name
Currys have the white one @ £109.99 with a £10 voucher off a future purchase (over £30 spend) and that makes it the same price if you'd refer to buy boxes from a retailer.

It's been posted already I think but still relevant.
Had mine for about 5 months now, love it, nothing has gone wrong with it yet but you can see that it is cheaply made. If it did go wrong though I would have to replace it because it cooks lots of things much tastier.

me!
We use our acti fry every day we on slimming world and the chips taste amazing with one half spoon of oil.
Excellent bit of kit. Had mine nearly three years, no problems. Does exactly what it says on the tin.
Why do people who don't own one feel qualified to judge the product?
Why are there so many people with nothing to say, but who do so nonetheless?

Because that would taste like some oven roasted strips of potato slightly soggy in part and too burnt in other parts , not like crispy bone dry fluffy in the middles chips out of an actifry
Had one. Lasted just over twelve months. Terrible build quality. Normally swear by Tefal, but this doesn't justify the price tag. If I saw one for £20-30 I'd consider getting another.

Although Oven Chips aren't free --- and you do need an oven to cook them in.
We used oven chips before we got our actifry and now I wouldn't touch chips in the oven.

These things are great, ours gets used 4-5 times a week! You can cook all sorts in them

Perhaps that's what happened, woke up, had a coffee(instant), got the bus to the library, used the internet and went on HUKD.

Who needs a fancy fryer costin in excess of £100 to make great chips?

Had all the gadgets and gizmos, but the best home made chips I've ever had are made by the missus who make them using a method she saw in one of those free Morrison's magazines.

Basically you peel/chip your potatoes as normal and then toss in a little olive oil black pepper.

Place on an oven tray and cook @ 180ish in your main oven for around 20-25 minutes.

Beautiful.....and you don't even need any salt (and I like my salt).

Maybe not as quick as an ASAD fryer, but personally, I wouldn't have em any other way.
Do these stink the kitchen out with that fried food smell or is it contained and how easy are they to clean?

. They dont stink the kitchen like your everyday fried food. Easy to clean and can be put into dishwasher. Highly recommended.
