Fiver cheaper than Argos.

We bought one of these in Costco a cpl of months ago and use it virtually every night. Great piece of kit.

Argos £109.99 and anybody can actually go in and buy that one.

Old, old, old news. Look at the date on the article. Tefal changed parts as a result of the fault, and they've been fine since then.

Still a cold deal though, IMO.

I've been put off by this after watching Watchdog and the possibility of it setting fire and Tefal not willing to fix it either ...

Got one from Boots sale a while ago!

When it works, it was pretty good, but on mine the motor burned out after less than 6 months & I only used mine a couple of times a week.

Gave it away to the other half's brother. 13 months in since new, warranty a few weeks expired & motor went again. Tefal offered a 20% discount if he agreed to purchase a new one here & then through the phone ( he declined) as he didn't use it much either).

So if anybody is getting one.... then get it from the Argos. Take out the extended service plan they offer . I think it lasts for 3 years or so because you'll eventually need it. Much cheaper to be covered for a couple of years out of warranty, than have to buy a brand new one when the manufacturer's 12 month warranty has just expired.

Good piece of kit when it's working, but the product imo isn't anywhere near as reliable as it should be given the price they charge to buy it in the first place.

As he said "Watchdog"! It's a tv consumer program on BBC 1. I've seen this too and I would not purchase one because at the time Tefal stated "there is nothing wrong with it, so we don't need to make changes", even thoug Which had proven in a lab that it was a design fault. I don't trust a company which doesn't admit to manufactor faults. Same with Renault about the bonnet catch on the 5. Never Renault, never Tefal for me.

I'm not surprised this deal is cold they have barely came down in price since they started selling them a few years ago.Still overpriced IMO.

Tefal DO sort the problem out no problem. My parents one went Fizz bang pop and they got a new one sent to them as soon as they rang Tefal. Just asked the serial number and guessing it came back as one with fault and they no aguments was just replaced

these things cook loads of stuff really well - but not chestnuts... i tried cooking my chestnuts with them and my nuts exploded - making a big mess spilling its contents everywhere .. lol although some of the nuts that didn't explode my wife said were really well done and extremly tasty..

They are actually good, if you like chips, sausages etc. ours gets used regularly as its a very lazy option

Wouldn't want to be without our one, used twice per week with no probs (nearly a year old now). If it broke, we'd get a new one.

I got mine from Costco and it did just after a year, which meant I had no recourse from Costco as the Sale of Goods Act does not apply to wholesalers and Tefal were routinely referring complaints back to the retailer. It was just not worth the hassle of taking Tefal to court. The problem is that Costco are still selling the older white model and I believe the updated version is in black unless somebody knows better.

It was great while it worked, although the paddle inside was starting to lose its coating, which makes you wonder exactly what you are eating. Replaced with a halogen oven at less than half the price, uses the same wattage and cooks chips in about half the time.
